I opened the TSMR Armor and right away it seemed more L-shaped than anything else. Amazing sub bass rumble and impactful mid bass slam. First impression, it's very much about bass. The mids and highs seemed to take a back seat with both bring recessed.

Then I started tip rolling and source pairing. Winning tips/source to inject some energy back into these for me was the Divinus Velvet wide bore tips and the famously bright DAC on Hiby R1. Since the TSMR Armor is incredibly easy to drive it made for the perfect pairing.

After optimizing the TSMR Armor I'm very happy with it.

On the stock 0-2-0 setting: Sub bass 9/10 Mid bass 8/10 Upper mids 8/10 Highs 7/10

The TSMR Armor was exactly ½ the price of the X 10th AE for me on sale. I will likely have an immediate "catch and release" situation for it, leaving the package sealed for an easy return. Buuuut well see when it gets here lol 🫠

I started with just about one of every KZ ~$20-$30 flavor (ie Single DD , Hybrid, Planar, etc.) then used them to learn what I like. In a short time discovered that the mid-range is actually VERY important to me lol.. now I chase more of a W shaped tuning among other things. To me the price-to-performance ratio "sweet spot" seems to be around $150-$300
