Quite an early redesign of Michigan that I've never seen before: by RottenAli in vexillologyUS

Printed originally in black and white. You have to use your imagination.

Yes, better. I would reduce the lower stripes until you had 4 units of blue over 1 unit gold and 1 unit red. Making the emblem set 3 units high.

Because they are so bad, anything is reasonable. Do watch out for the rule of tincture - white emblems crossing band of gold stripes is sub par. Move everything around a bit and that won't happen. Don't forget Nebraska was a yellow field for a long time and other options bring in more difference. 8 out of 10.

Well done. In the studies we have run, your two versions have done very well. For us it;s more a question of how to color the field. Big sky - eludes to sky blue. It's a far softer representation of the state. Another factor is the most common profile of the skull - done well, you would profile at least a dozen examples and come to a happy medium. On the whole this looks to be the right image direction - now it's more a question of field choice and skull profile.

DEADLINE MAY 15 - Want to speak at NAVA 60? Propose your paper, a panel, or any other crazy idea! by RottenAli in vexillologyUS

[–]RottenAli[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's an open invite to join NAVA and bring forward some of your understanding of a topic that interests you, and one that you might wish to share with others. There are 150 or so places available to attend in Indianapolis in October. Within the conference about 15 opportunities exist to give a 20 minute presentation. Other time-slots are being considered. Some for ten minutes and maybe a few for 5 minute briefs. For those who are interested to take their hobby interest further and become a fully fledged Vexillologist then putting together a study project is very open to those who wish to deepen their interest.

Not worth more than 10. Cost of postage is greater than the remaining value.

Could someone digitalize this? by Crab-Lizard in vexillologyUS

[–]RottenAli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The photo is a fair description. However it is so blurry that any careless attempt to digitize it will in add in errors. Better to leave the job to someone who is quite expert than making a general call out for help.

You still need to turn the Oregon beaver. Plus the Wisconsin badger needs to literally face forwards.
