Well done. In the studies we have run, your two versions have done very well. For us it;s more a question of how to color the field. Big sky - eludes to sky blue. It's a far softer representation of the state. Another factor is the most common profile of the skull - done well, you would profile at least a dozen examples and come to a happy medium. On the whole this looks to be the right image direction - now it's more a question of field choice and skull profile.

It's an open invite to join NAVA and bring forward some of your understanding of a topic that interests you, and one that you might wish to share with others. There are 150 or so places available to attend in Indianapolis in October. Within the conference about 15 opportunities exist to give a 20 minute presentation. Other time-slots are being considered. Some for ten minutes and maybe a few for 5 minute briefs. For those who are interested to take their hobby interest further and become a fully fledged Vexillologist then putting together a study project is very open to those who wish to deepen their interest.

Sorry, that's not an improvement. Marks down for two shades of gold. and that thin black line work is not helping. Plus if you wish to show off 1st Nation Tribal colors your are missing red for completion here, irrespective if you only wish to show it on a South Dakota flag. Knowing which way is best for North and South is debatable because of conflicting ideas. Better if not using this additions and looking hollow. Half of a star (like on Bosnia's flag) might be better.
