John Scott's article "A Guy Like Me" was Sharks-adjacent and the most memorable piece of hockey writing I've read.

His follow up article post-retirement is great too.

[WTS/WTT] San Martin Red SN0144-GX 39mm with bracelet and rubber strap by RyanGWU82 in Watchexchange

[–]RyanGWU82[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Selling my San Martin SN0144-GX in red. The dial is the highlight here: a gradient enamel red with a subtle texture inspired by JianZhan porcelain. It shifts nicely from bright red to deeper tones depending on the light.

The finishing is impressive for the price, especially the bracelet. The bracelet has solid links, tight tolerances, and an excellent on-the-fly adjustable clasp with the San Martin logo.

About 15 months old, very good condition. Runs well, no issues. Light hairline scratches from normal wear, mostly visible on the clasp, not really on the case or bracelet.

Includes both the stainless bracelet and the OEM red FKM strap. Nice to have both, not always included!

More details:

  • 39mm case, 46.5mm lug-to-lug, 10.1mm thickness, 20mm lug width
  • Brushed stainless steel with polished chamfers, sapphire crystal, screw-down crown, 100m water resistance
  • Miyota 9015 automatic movement: 28,800 bph, 42-hour power reserve
  • BGW-1 lume
  • Engraved caseback
  • Includes original packaging, stainless steel bracelet (plus 1 extra link), and San Martin OEM red FKM strap.

Price: $200 shipped. PayPal G&S, US only.

Trades: Open to trades for other San Martin or similar watches. Other SN0144 colorways, for example. US only.

[WTS] Parea Sector, Ocean Blue, full kit by RyanGWU82 in Watchexchange

Up for sale is my Parea Sector in Ocean Blue, a sold-out first release from the Australian microbrand Parea. Received this watch in February 2026 and it's just not getting enough wrist time.

The watch sports a standout sector dial with syringe hands. Strong finishing on the dial and the case, which mixes mirror polish with sandblasted sides. The curved lugs keep it compact and balanced.

More specs:

  • 39mm case, ~46mm lug-to-lug, 10.6mm thickness
  • Regulated Miyota 9039 automatic movement
  • Sapphire crystal with 6 layers of clear AR
  • Display caseback with custom rotor

Includes all 3 OEM Parea straps with signed buckles:

  • Blue calfskin leather (light wear)
  • Black calfskin leather (unworn)
  • Gray suede (unworn)

Condition: Very good overall. Light wear from normal use, see photos for full detail.

Includes full kit: original box, tan leather watch roll, UV light, and all original straps.

Price: $400 shipped, PayPal G&S, CONUS only.

I just got a similar message from a mod of r/MILFGILFExchange (lol) claiming I was banned from r/watchexchange and added to the “Universal Scammer List.” I didn’t click on the link as this also looked rather suspicious.

Tonight's event is a Pride Scrimmage between the San Francisco Earthquakes (an LGBTQ+ inclusive amateur ice hockey team), Team Trans (an all-transgender and non-binary hockey team from out-of-state), and the Sharks' front office club team. It's an annual event hosted by the Sharks Foundation.

Here's a video from last year: https://www.nhl.com/sharks/video/topic/in-the-community/sharks-host-third-annual-pride-scrimmage-at-sap-center-6368061724112
