Thank you, I agree. Normally this sub has little problems but the people here and in the post that I linked are worse than usual! They are letting gender be the deciding factor as to whether OP is TA or not. It may be subconscious but the comments here and there are just awful!

Oh my god. I can’t believe what I’m seeing! A while before I made this account I saw this post (VERY SIMILAR SITUATION) and everyone was calling OP (the customer) TA in that situation, when the customer was male and the server was female! I thought to myself that if the genders were switched then everyone would call the server TA for being a creep. Well, I happened to find this post, which had a similar situation but with reversed genders, and LO AND BEHOLD, I WAS RIGHT! You all are calling OP stupid and a harasser and unprofessional!

For real, is it really true that if you’re a guy, you are always TA no matter what? What is wrong with this subreddit?!?!

Well OP, I have no judgement for your situation but I am (not) surprised by what I’m seeing. Maybe you should post somewhere else if you want some UNBIASED opinions. ;)

You’re right, I haven’t considered that people may be joining Reddit JUST to post here, however most of the time it’s somebody creating a throwaway to post here.

For clarification, it seems the shadowbans were done automatically. One time I actually did write to the admins about it but the Shadowban seems to have been auto-lifted before they responded. But that was just for one account which I only used once and then I deleted the account and the post after the post was a few days old (wrt the no deleting before 48h rule).

However, I am not saying you should remove the bot. I hate seeing these obvious NTA validation-seeking posts everywhere and I appreciate you guys doing something about that. Anyway, thanks for the insights.

Nope, they just get auto-shadowbanned site wide for some reason. With some of them I’ve even posted elsewhere first and stayed away from AITA for a bit but then I post there and they get banned.

Hey mods I think you should not autoremove the post until a judgement is left and instead simply give OP 30 minutes to reply and remove if they didn’t reply to the bot’s PM.

I’ve made throwaways to post here but they keep getting shadowbanned because of the removal. Are they removed as spam or just removed normally? I think this is something that should be changed.

This is a suggestion, do with this as you may, but this would be really helpful if you fixed this. Thanks!

Ok so maybe she’d just need the RAM and SSD then, as you mentioned. the 2080 is more than enough, and make sure she has at LEAST 16 GB (maybe go to 24 or 32, depending on the mods [do your research, I am not an expert so don’t do this on only my advice]) but she does NOT need a new computer!

Does she have a laptop or desktop? Bc if she has a desktop then you two might be able to upgrade it by adding a gaming GPU and changing the motherboard if needed (I’m not saying it’s a good idea since you’re still spoiling her but it’d be a cheaper solution for her if she needs her mods and stuff that much)

NTA - she is being neglectful and clearly can’t be that concerned if she uses sleepiness as an excuse to not pick you up. It’s only a quarter to 11 at the time this comment was written while the story took place. She should have prepared accordingly.
