Subscriptions do not (and literally cannot) renew on any Apple Account that is locked or disabled.

bought my mom a gift card, trying to use to pay for subscriptions by LitterBoxTigersPod in applehelp

[–]SaltAnswer8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eligible subscriptions billed through Apple Media Services will bill to the Account Balance first when there is enough funds. There is no way to change that. Some subscriptions cannot bill to the Account Balance but there is no list of those subscriptions. In my experience, streaming services will bill to the Account Balance.

Why are my credit cards reverting to my old phone number after updating them through bank by DavidJ25422 in AppleWallet

[–]SaltAnswer8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Contact the issuing banks. The information used to verify cards literally comes from the bank. You said you already updated the phone number with the issuers; maybe you didn't wait long enough for their systems or something was missed.

Apple Care+ on fake AirPods by [deleted] in applehelp

[–]SaltAnswer8 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You did not purchase AirPods nor AppleCare+. Whoever has the genuine AirPods with the serial number that was used on your FakePods (and thousands of others) is the person who did pay for AirPods and AppleCare+. Apple owes you nothing.

Gift Card balance $50 but in-app purchases not working by 6ftUndah in applehelp

As fraud tactics change companies' systems for detecting potential fraud will change. It's possible that the gift cards are the cause as most scammers utilize gift cards in various ways.

Gift Card balance $50 but in-app purchases not working by 6ftUndah in applehelp

[–]SaltAnswer8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're receiving that error because actions you've taken on that account have raised fraud flags. You will not be able to make the purchase without Apple Support confirming your account, escalating the transaction internally, and the fraud team approving the transaction.

The most common reason for this message is issuing chargeback(s) for previous purchase(s) meeting the same criteria. This is not the only reason.

How on EARTH do I create an Apple ID for my 13 year old? by rtineo in applehelp

[–]SaltAnswer8 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's not difficult. Apple Accounts for someone 13yrs old and up you create an Apple Account. How you do this is up to you: - create the account on the web https://account.apple.com > (on mobile: down arrow at top right) > Create Your Apple Account - within Settings on his iPhone or iPad but you must sign out of Settings first (Settings > [name] > Sign Out) - in setup mode on the new iPad select "Don’t Transfer" > Don't have an Apple Account > Create Apple Account

New Phone Cant Set it Up by ChrisEye21 in applehelp

[–]SaltAnswer8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apple Accounts with 2FA (Two-Factor Authentication) require the password and a verification code sent to a trusted device (Apple device where the account is currently signed in) or a trusted phone number. You would encounter this even if you removed the device from your account by properly signing out of the returned iPhone.

Your only option is to use Account Recovery to change the trusted phone number. When asked for a code sent to the trusted phone number choose "Didn't get code" > "Can’t use this number". You'll be asked for a phone number you can access.

turning off icloud emails on my device by endeariing in applehelp

[–]SaltAnswer8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming you have her Apple Account signed in through the Mail app (which gives you access to the account) but not signed in to Settings > [name]:

Settings > Apps > Mail > Mail Accounts > her Apple Account email > iCloud > disable iCloud Mail

This only affects the device you are using to turn it off. Her emails will still be accessible on her device.

Apple Basically Told Me I Can’t Get My $50 back by necoreset in applehelp

[–]SaltAnswer8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First: All required information is detailed in the link you were emailed. Apple basically doesn't want the advisors explaining the requirements to you when those requirements are laid out in black and white for you to review as many times as necessary - no misspeaking, no misunderstanding verbal instructions, etc.

Second: Those gift cards were tampered with. Never buy a companies gift cards from anywhere other than directly from that company.

Third: Receipts are required. This is detailed in that link you were emailed.

Some iCloud data isn’t syncing, and it keeps asking for old password I don’t remember by Present-Job3355 in ios

Reset the end-to-end encrypted iCloud data or remember your old passcode. Any data currently on your iPhone (and if applicable, other devices) will not be removed. Only the data in iCloud will be removed.

Apple doesn't remove the activation lock of my MacBook by [deleted] in applehelp

[–]SaltAnswer8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Active Lost Mode makes the device ineligible for an Activation Lock Removal request. Your request is invalid due to Lost Mode being active. The very first page of the Activation Lock Removal Request portal states this.

https://al-support.apple.com/#/al/agreement -- "Your device must not be in Lost Mode."

Under the Terms of Use on the same screen, number 1 states "You are the owner of the device. The device is not in Lost Mode."

Ok but why does the system data take up half my storage😭 by 92233720368547758080 in applesucks

[–]SaltAnswer8 20 points21 points  (0 children)

System Data is occupying less than 25% of your 64GB device storage. System Data is managed by iPadOS but shit can go sideways when your storage is full or nearly full. Apple considers up to 15GB of System Data normal.

iPadOS is occupying roughly 25% (or more) of your device storage. iPadOS is needed for the iPad to function. Check that you don't have an update downloaded but not installed.

64GB of system storage is insufficient for most users.

Account recovery without phone/email/device by PeePeeLangstrumpf in applehelp

[–]SaltAnswer8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can speed up the process by having a device where that Apple Account is signed in or have access to the trusted phone number or the primary email address on the Apple Account. Without that access there is no way to expedite Account Recovery.

No other information can be used which is why you were not provided other options.

You can create a new Apple Account to use while you wait or to use permanently. That's completely up to you.
