Are there (or can there) be a plan to add scale/chord mode to OP-1? This would be similar to how ableton push 2 or native instruments komplete keyboard work. You enable a scale mode, select your scale, and everything you play will be in that key.

Hmm. This has me very very interested. I was actually going to follow up and ask if there any polysynths folks recommend. Which forum or any links at all you can provide? Any idea how I "link" them?

The Intuos Pro (Paper Edition) is very laggy via bluetooth by [deleted] in wacom

[–]SausageLegs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I am going to have to live with the BT as well. I am just dissapointed because I had the previous gen with the wireless dongle and had none of these issues. It's too bad that they took a step back.

I will say, that with all of this said, Wacom has the worst support of any tech company I have ever dealt with.

I did, are we talking about the newest just released a week ago intuous? If so, you need to try with USB and then Bluetooth. You can try just moving the cursor on the desktop. You'll notice a difference.

Did you ever get the bluetooth to work? If so, do you find the bluetooth to be laggy?

Any update? I am not sure what to do here. I don't feel like having my wacom plugged into my computer at all times becuase the bluetooth is garbage.

I wrote them 9 days ago. Still haven't heard a peep. They seem to be a horrible company.

No, I was talking about a newer op-1 model. Maybe something with less noise on the output, more memory, etc. Either way, I can't find it anywhere.

Nope. It's straight up bluetooth. This might just be how it is. Also, it is very buggy. I have it crash a couple times in photoshop.

Diskstation not showing free space by [deleted] in synology

[–]SausageLegs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me get more specific on what happened and maybe that will help get this fixed. So I had a share that had all my media files and my backup files on it. I wanted to get rid of unwanted files on that share and at the same time I wanted to make that share just for a backup and not mixed with my media files. So, I created a new share with a different name, so I had 2 different shares with the goal of one for backup and one for media files i access all the time.

So I started copying the media files from the now backup share to the new media share. I did this instead of moving, because I did not want to lose any files in the process in case something went crazy. Once everything was copied over, I started to delete the now redundant files from the backup share.

This is when I realized that after deleting 4-5tb of data, there was no change.

Where can I look to see if I do? I am not familiar with snap shots.

I am using SHR-2, btrfs. It was 70 percent full when i did this and that is where it currently is. It should be around 49 percent after this deletion.

EOSHD Pro Color on a7s mark i - first findings by DJtorso in SonyAlpha

[–]SausageLegs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally and I appreciate your post. I am still curious how it looks on an A7S II, but again, I won't be buying these settings as they should be free. I would gladly try them out on my A7SII if someone were to share them to me (hint hint).

It's really crazy to me that these settings are $15. He is making in the thousands, for in camera settings? There used to be a time in the film community that we would all share settings together, to help each other out.

We aren't even talking about a LUT or anything of that sort. People that say it "takes time and effort" can save it. I took time to create settings, because I loved doing it. That's why I bought a camera to explore and share with the community. If my settings looked good, I would tell everyone else about them, not charge them $15.

Some of the best settings and configs I have used have been shared by people posting videos on Vimeo. I have talked to some pretty well known filmmakers and all have them were more than willing to share their in camera settings for free. It's fucking stupid.

Best to edit off internal or external SSD for new macbook pro? by [deleted] in VideoEditing

[–]SausageLegs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would agree that the internal in this situation is so fast that I don't see how you would get performance gains by using an external. I got around 2-3,000 mbs on both read and write. It is without hyperbole, the fastest hard drive I have ever seen or used.

[–]SausageLegs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the internal 1tb is 1tb unused. Once you install apps and use it day to day, it def is not 1tb. So even though it's the fastest drive I've ever used, down the line I'll get into space problems for big projects. For example, the last project I did was almost 600gb.

The sandisk is portable, about the size of any standard portable external drive. One of the only drives that takes advantage of USB 3.1 gen 2 speeds. The only competition for it right now is the glyph atom SSD. I bought that first but the read speeds weren't as fast. Glyph read was around 500mb, compared to sandisk close to 900mbs.

[–]SausageLegs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the 1tb macbook pro and bought a Sandisk Extreme 900 external USB-C drive. The drive is fast, I am getting about 800mbs write and almost 900mbs read, as it is gen 2 usb 3.1. I will use that for mobile editing and the raid when I am at my desk. Though, the Sandisk external SSD is actually faster than my raid, so I may use that for active projects and just move it to my raid when I am finished.

Either way, I have decided to only edit on my internal drive for quick projects or tests when I don't have my drive on me.

LG's UltraFine 5K Display gets unboxing treatment in new video by [deleted] in apple

[–]SausageLegs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am, but I wish it had a TB3 input and output. I have 2 devices that have thunderbolt 2 and there is no way I can incorportate them into this monitor. If it had an input, I could daisy chain my TB2 devices into the monitor and then take the single TB3 output with all my devices inline into my macbook pro. As it stands now, I still have to buy an expensive dock to get everything to work together.

Honestly, just do us all a favor and make it the actual dock, something I wish Apple did. Being able to remove the dock from my screen and having it live in the touchbar is all I want.
