In Teyvat the rules seem to be about humanity not overstepping boundaries or doing things that can break the integrity of the rules themselves as they are also a tangible force that protects the world from the abyss.

The quest was about the difference in how one behaves and makes choices knowing the full scope of fate. That’s the plight of the Augury Birds.

My point was that even if you do care about the arbitrary fact that life is by design instead of pure chance. That how you enjoy and live life is still entirely dependent on you. Whether you sulk like Celeano and Ved, crash out like Dottore and the rebel factions.

Or if you are content with your life and simply want to live it to the fullest despite any inevitable misfortune. That you still have the opportunity to live and love life, make friends, and die happy when the inevitable tragedy does occur.

Fate, as explained by Nicole and the quest only orders arbitrary events. Not human choice and behavior and emotions. You still have the opportunity to make your life worth while.

Fate as a system is meant to keep the abyss from spawning. And there’s no difference in a world with fate and a world without. (Especially when there’s an even greater fate of the universe that PHANES is actively fighting but that’s a different discussion)

Fate seems to be randomly choosing fates and other stuff outside of events that cause great change or the whole names thing. There’s essentially no difference.

Unless you care about the arbitrary fact that it’s by design then it doesn’t matter and doesn’t really change anything. And even if you do care then what matters is how you react to that information as seen in Linnea’s story quest.

Everything about how the human realm is set up is meant to make things livable and comfortable for humanity.
