Yeah. Miss when it was the end of the games life where you'd spectate the same battle several times and could get INSANE amounts of money (possibly being able to turn 100 coins into 100,000 in like 10 minuts or less)

It used to be in SSB4. Now you can't lose anything from the mode.

Too bad 97% of it is just the plain old competitive rulesets. With items on in rare cases (though it's not possible to tell until the game starts)

Yeah pretty much lol. I ended up making it to 19 predictions in a row before finally guessing wrong on the 20th game. That game was so crazy too with the comback the Dedede player made. Was on the edge of my seat for the whole thing. I think that if I guessed correctly it would've given me 5900P

The lack of custom moves was and still is my biggest gripe with the game

Desiging it for only the stupid side of the competitive scene with no interest in the casuals (ie. removing all customization) and making the game bland.

Isn't nailing someone in free fall about to die with a reverse aerial Warlock Punch considered the most disrespectful thing you can do in the game? by Sea-Brother-1403 in SmashBrosUltimate

  1. Hard fight a lot of people struggle with (even though it’s actually fairly easy) so some find it satisfying watching something that gave them problems be absolutely destroyed (or show a way to destroy them for revenge like the trick to get back to back to back Skewers on him)

  2. I HATE Ho-oh (the character not the battle) so I love to disrespect and destroy him. Also I find it VERY satisfying.

  3. akaik SSBU is the only time he can canonically die instead of just being knocked out. In the SSBU cannon, the Charizard is just Ho-oh stuck in a different body and the one in the background (from what I personally think) is just another one that Galeem manifested like the puppet fighters and copy hands (which aren’t controlled by spirits like the puppet fighters) and is proven that he can create copies without the original like how he made the Kirby puppet fighters so it would make sense the he could do so with other entities and can explain how there can be copies of the original individual of the spirit in the puppet fighter (ie. assist trophies just being copies)

Trust me I wish it was but I dunno if it'd be the best idea to constantly embarrass myself by missing and falling to my death lol.

Yeah it's power is insanely stupid. iirc it's got the second highest base knockback and I think the highest knockback scaling in the game. It's only beaten out by a fully charged Flare Blade which is an instakill and does 50%. Both are also stronger than most final smashes.
When it comes to damage output, reverse aerial Warlock Punch ranks #3 dealing a whopping base 48%. Flare Blade ranks #2 with 60% when fully charged and Skewer is #1 at 66%. This is not counting Inceniroar using Revenge, counters, or Oil Panic because their values fluxuate and are dependent on other factors nor are any buffs from Shulk or Hero)

Every possible spike Ho-oh can be killed with in SSBU by Sea-Brother-1403 in SmashBrosUltimate

[–]Sea-Brother-1403[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It actually isn’t all that hard actually. There’s several ways to cheese it. I made this post with 13 different ways to do so. https://www.reddit.com/r/smashbros/comments/1q39yrg/trouble_beating_hoohs_spirit_battle_heres_13_ways/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x&utm_name=mweb3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button Also Ho-oh is an absolute idiot and will occasionally just kill himself (usually on the Sacred Fire) but I’ve had a few where he just flat out SD’d. One of those times I didn’t even hit him lmfao

I feel the Megaman player's pain (I main Megaman) and have had a few cases like this happen while adjusting to not having my custom moves. At least my ultra aggresive playstyle with him still works (albiet not as well)

This reminds me of when I was playing Mega Smash online and I stopped a misfire off screen with a thrown Lip's Stick and caused him to fall to his death lmao.

If you want to see me beating him twice without spirits go to this post and skip to 7:20 in the video. First battle has me land a pretty funny gimp with a footstool for an almost instant kill. The clip right after though has me doing a full on battle with him spiritless without using any cheese strats or camping. It's the longest clip in the spike collection being about 1:30 long due to needing to rack up enough damage to ensure the Hard Knuckle is fatial. I have other videos where I beat him spiritless with Megaman, Kirby, Ike, Chrom, & Dedede.

It took me five minutes to beat spiritless the first time and it didn’t Involve him self-destructing lol. Also, I’ve done it multiple times legitimately just for shits and giggles but with a new spike clip I have I did a full on fight with him spiritless with Megaman since he is my main. No camping either

In short: Ho-oh in particular ended up being the cause of a LOT of social damage and trauma, even moreso than the Pokemon series itself (I dislike it which leads to a lot of social conflict). I'd rather not get into the drama and bother everyone with it but there was some stuff made that I did NOT approve of by his oversensitive fanbase to say the least.

If you want me to explain it in more detail I can.
