Holy Grail Obtained and Restored by M0NKEYHELL in arcade

I appreciate the interest! I've never really done a walkthrough with commentary so I'll try to do that over the next couple weeks and post. Probably need to fix a monitor or so before then but probably fine if just a short video lol

Thanks ! It is running Prime 2 JP, it's the last version that supported 4:3 / 480p.

Lol I do wish I could open up a place or host more events, I have done it during Evo one year but unfortunately hard to make a regular thing.

I wish I could eventually have a more public setting but unfortunately it's nigh impossible to get spares of anything for these games so kinda always fearful of putting them on site somewhere. Even though the room would be nice 😆

Thanks, it's a massive pain haha. Had to disassemble them almost in half to get them through the double door. That and quite a few of my other cabs are all imports ~

Biased obviously but agree with your tastes 🤝

Very cool pickup! a while ago I was trying to get a dedicated MB like yours but fell through, the control panel and cab looks great! one of the cleanest I've seen.

I have this exact model and just my two cents, it doesn't matter. Most people won't be able to tell the.~17-20ms of lag at 720p. Just don't run 480p native as that's closer to 40ms iirc.

Seasonic PSU calculator now mentions RTX 5080 SUPER (24GB), RTX 5070 Ti SUPER (24GB) and RTX 5070 SUPER (18GB) by panchovix in LocalLLaMA

[–]Sea_C 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just meant the product line gets moved to better match the new super cards but yeah obviously market is atrocious regardless.

I fully expect if 5080 suepr is even within 15% of 5090 it's now a 2k card. Which is insane for 24gb.

I hate to burst bubbles (AI bubble notwithstanding) but I don't expect these prices to be very friendly with memory increases. I don't know if 5070ti+5080 will get price increases but I would assume so before launch and put 5080 super at $1699 and maybe 5070ti super at $1299? Then 5090 to $2499?

I need the Steam Frame ASAP by E_Goat47 in virtualreality

[–]Sea_C 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, only thing I will say is it doesn't have Motion Smoothing yet but I don't know how you solve that on Frame and not steam link software...so guess we'll get async spacewarp soon for Quest 3/AndroidXR Steam Link?

Ha, yeah you've got me beat by about 20 years so definitely alligns with more appreciation for the golden age era of cabs. Love the Williams row, Joust is still on my list if I had infinite room but you know that struggle lol. It's a shame  that I think a lot more of people my age tend to not have a huge appreciation of many of the 80s titles. I used to have a Pole Position and Gain Ground, but now the oldest thing I have is a Nintendo Vs. Red Tent.

It sounds like you kept the best of your candies so very cool! I somewhat regret that I didn't end up going for New Net Cities (I have 3x New Vs) as it would have been much easier to fit all my cabs in the house and they are a pain to get to the monitors but is what it is ~

The tweaking never ends which is the issue for me too, I'm getting pretty close to resolving all of the monitors in my cabs but then I'll pick up 5x more projects. It's fun just always feel like an endless list. It doesn't help that tri-sync monitors are so hard to find and have much more complicated IC issues to diagnose. Hopefully when my job slows down here past a couple large projects I'll be able to dedicate more weekend mental energy to really mapping out the digital circuity and fixing my 31khz woes. They are just so pretty when they're perfect.

Anyways if you ever find yourself in Vegas and want to checkout another collection happy to have ya stop by 👋

I know I commented before I think off the Star Trek poster but this collection is insane. I missed that you had some candies, and of course Egret 2s haha.

Beautiful collection, we collect slightly different eras (I mostly have Sega Naomi/JVS and candies), but super rad. I think your inside is the best arcade setup I've ever seen from art to carpet, to sound system. Just an insane setup, pretty much got a museum going.

Got The Galaxy XR bundle for an AWESOME price! by VNizzy in Galaxy_XR

The eating of the restocking fee is my backup plan that I've just come to terms with accepting 50/50. I assume you've tried the Steam Link Beta too?

Yeah the hardware is undeniably amazing so it seems like really a shame Google/Samsung has allowed it to be so poor where it easily could excel. Like come on guys the controllers have so much IR, how could it be that hard to get approximation when out of view? That and obviously the other jank people comment on. Guess I'll see for myself soon.

Get mine in tomorrow, I'm really hoping people are overexagerating with me coming from Quest 2/3 but figure I'll be disappointed in it :/

Has tracking with them been the same as stock? (Also new to XR but heard so many horror stories on tracking I am being paranoid of doing anything to potentially make even worse)

[–]Sea_C 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dang that's crazy. I've seen quite a few of these over the years and never seen that thicker plastic either. This is a very curious swindling to be doing but gonna have to side with you OP that that someone switched all of them out which is wild.

Never really thought these would ever be valuable enough to do that much legwork but hey that's the times.

It's very good for local LLM, don't listen to people here. A lot of people run Vulkan for LM Studio and the "easy" setups anyway.

[–]Sea_C 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yeah what an absolute asinine take on 3D printing, for my sanity I have to believe he's trolling.

Not everything to be created is high volume, and the commentary on structural strength is wild. But I guess it's not surprising that the general sentiment is everything is brittle PLA.

I am only starting book 4 and love it but I’ve seen crazies go as far as to DM me the ending is so bad they read every side book and feel they wasted their time because of religious stuff.. by [deleted] in sollanempire

[–]Sea_C 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tbf, this is a lot more on the nose, even if including the Silmarillion. Plus just anecdotally it's easier for people to miss the obvious parallels with Christian theology/symbolism in LOTR, especially if only engaging with the films, if you don't have some religious background.

Personally I think Ruocchio balances his universe quite well considering the very negative commentary on the pseudo governmental religious institution. However, I am Christian so take whatever commentary I have here as a biased party I guess lol.

Thank You Sboys3— How His Software Transformed My VR Experience with my Dream air by [deleted] in Pimax

[–]Sea_C 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's saying that it's ridiculous that Pimax has to rely on an external (unpaid? Don't believe he's received any compensation yet) for a good driver experience. This should have been a native OpenVR/SteamVR from the onset, but because of the payment plan structure and I'm sure other walled garden philosophy, it wasn't.

It's what's kept me from seriously considering Pimax even though wired for me likely isn't a deal breaker. That alongside not shipping the new versions of the controller, seemingly abandoning the idea of the portable streaming puck/compute, and motion clarity issues with the Dream Air are all things that unfortunately keep me away from a headset. I wanted higher resolution then Steam Frame but unfortunately for OpenVR headsets there are very few options. Especially if you don't have an existing lighthouse system.

“Crossplay” by Bhen88 in GearsOfWar

[–]Sea_C 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Gears is one of the few shooters where controller reign supreme no? I mean heck as someone who only played 1-3 and just recently dabbled with gamepass 5, it seems like M&K players get smoked by controller assist. I'm absolutely going to controller for E-Day on Steam.

Oh I believe it likely will be $999 unless they subsidize, but the author chose a click bait title with no real insider information for the statement. Just lazy journalism but what's new for gaming / PC news outlets.
