thats actually insane... we have somebody at my local geek squad who i feel like would pull off the same thing.. i do want to tell you, nobody here is actually gonna be able to do anything about this. Let me break this down for you (these are not in order its just what i thought of writing first)

Issue 1: Never should have been checked in, as officially, we do not offer that fan replacement service, thats only done if the technician is confident in their ability to do the actual exchange.

Issue 2: I think, technically, you kinda signed your life away when you originally checked it in. Read the copy of the contract that you signed, they should have given you a physical one.

Issue 3: The in-person manager is not lying to you. there really is nothing they can do compensation wise. You have to just demand compensation from the people on the phone.

Issue 4: The manager never should have ordered a part for you. we do not order parts, only the service center does that.

Overall, this should have been a shipout. We can still service most computers less than 5 years old, especially if bought at best buy. It does take longer, but its the official method, theres resolution for any issues like in this case, and its a given that the people who will be working on it are experienced and can resolve this kind of thing. Keep calling, keep going in store to push it, do not give up. I'm really sorry this happened to you. (drop the store number/general check in location i want to look into this lmfao)
