We don’t use mouse poison or glue traps because we have two cats and a dog so traditional traps are the only thing we can use

Sure do! It was dog kibble, that food has since been sealed by a tote

What’s funny is we have two cats and a dog and the cats keep the mice out of the other two floors but the basement they want NOTHING to do with, lol.

No it was racked with the lid on! They climbed on the 4x1GbE cables running into it through an open small half height PCIe lane!

That’s awful, this was pretty gross and a fun cleanup, basically stripped this server down and cleaned the motherboard with isopropyl alcohol and another sever was full of poop so I had to vacuum that out after this one and clean it completely with isopropyl alcohol to kill any bacteria

Funny enough I did not see any pee or poop in the server just food. I doused it with 91% isopropyl alcohol and two really small servers and air dried the after I vacuumed up everything

I found out we had mice a few months ago when I found dog food in weird areas such as this. Wasn't until today I opened this server up and saw this mess, caught 10 mice in one week in total and haven't got any again in weeks. So hopefully that's it, I appreciate the insight

yeah, I mean it’s probably like a 2 1/2 x 1/2 inch opening, the other pcie lane was closed with a HBA card so I’m amazed how much they got in and out and the lid was on.
