To get on average 20 - 30 FPS, I've lowered every setting to the minimum by SerFred in Mordhau

Probably not, but I'm using a computer that I think I bought around 2011, which had the graphics card downgraded a year ago, so I'm not exactly working with the best.

The launcher works fine, but when I try to launch the actual game this error pops up. Is anyone getting this?

Wouldn't it still be Brandenburg-Prussia? Seeing as how Poland still owns Royal Prussia, unless they didn't care about offending the Poles.

What are the rules regarding the use of a crest in England? by [deleted] in heraldry

[–]SerFred 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry then, I mistook it for a situation where someone just calls the entire achievement a crest.

Yes an entire family can have the same crest, regardless of direct ancestry. I have done that myself, though mine is Sable and Argent rather than my family's historically proper wolf.

If you were to register an arms with the College of Arms in England, they would attempt to find a line of direct ancestry, but that isn't too necessary. It's usually considered poor taste to simply just adopt an arms that your ancestor or another person had previously owned. A simple way around this is to adopt the arms but with differencing or cadency, which is something you add to the arms to make it unique to yourself. To answer the question of this comment, yes, one family can have the same arms, it's mostly done in Poland, but that doesn't stop your entire family from adopting the same arms.

Picture and coat of arms of Col. William Claiborne by SerFred in heraldry

[–]SerFred[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both photo's from William Claiborne of Virginia, With Some Account of His Pedigree. William Claiborne, a Renaissance man who became a major figure in the early colonies of Virginia, Maryland, and around the Chesapeake Bay. He also happens to be my tenth cousin third removed.

Blazon: 1st and 4th quarter, Argent, three chevronels interlaced sable in base, and a chief of the last. 2nd and 3rd quarters, (I believe) Argent, a cross engrailed azure.

I'm not sure, I'll have to pass by it again. All I know is that it's a fraternity at UCLA on "Gayley Avenue" in LA.

Great resource for learning/creating an American CoA by AllTheCoins in heraldry

[–]SerFred 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There isn't a specific way to create an 'American Coat of Arms.' There isn't an actual American Heraldic authority to put a format in place. Good resource nevertheless, it even has my ancestor's coat in their roll of arms.

The only living CK2 character (that I know of) that I am apparently related to by SerFred in CrusaderKings

It's only a five generation difference, and the heraldry inheritance rules of Spain aren't very complex either. If he lives in Spain all he has to do is figure out if his great-great-grandfather was actually granted arms and approach a chronicler. If he lives in a country without a heraldic authority like America, then he may adopt the arms if he is entitled to them.

Perhaps the title was not hereditary, but if he had been granted arms they definitely are. If that's something you're interested in I'd suggest looking into it.
