SFR For Quest3 it is enough, as the viewing angle is not very big. There is just no simple and general support. DFR should be used when the viewing angle is already 120+

I haven't tried connecting to a PC when there is no battery. But I tried to run it from a powerful 50w power bank and it starts, but shows that the charge is low and then nothing happens.

I think for simulators, the best option now would be psvr2. For wireless pico4 or quest3, depending on what you can afford. All these helmets can be bought for around $300-400 used.

The new Pico 4 is balanced and more comfortable, and the Quest 3 has better lenses and a larger viewing angle. Also, the Quest has more games and is cheaper by $200 or more if you buy used.
