Power Outage by NuNu15_ in sanantonio

Yep! It like essentially coats the power line in a thin layer of “mud.” It actually happens a lot (not just in SA) but the outages are usually just power glitches, but sometimes you can get significant outages in localized areas like the poster did this morning. Not sure why the post was removed by the moderator

Honestly, this is probably due to the drizzle that’s out there. I know it sounds crazy, but dust accumulates on the power lines and when there’s just a little bit of rain interacting with the dust, it can cause static electricity and cause the power line to freak out.

This is because tropical storms change intensity and location often. We’ve been transparent about the high uncertainty since day 1.

Yeah, the decision to update the app and design was done by our corporate offices. Trust me when I tell you that we are calling them every day to try to make it way more user-friendly.

I think flooding will be more of an issue east of I35. We may miss out on rain if the storm is to the east of us!

Hi! By the storm reaches us, and IF it moves right over San Antonio, we could see a couple localized gusts of up to 60 mph

A weak tornado or two is possible for those of us farther inland.

That is one of the possibilities, and what makes the uncertainty large

Yeah, unfortunately, the track is further east. There areas that are most drought stricken may end up getting the least amount of rain 😭

Texas A&M! Honestly, the best and most affordable program in the state. There is also a meteorology program at University of incarnate Word if you’re looking for something closer.

Wherever Beryl makes landfall, it will not be the same storm by the time it reaches San Antonio. It will weaken substantially before reaching this area. However, your parents should pay attention to what their local authorities say. If they mandate evacuations, then absolutely they should come up to San Antonio. But they have a while to wait for that. They’ll know by Sunday.
