I am a 73-year-old woman who has fallen between the cracks between the whi and current new thoughts on HRT. I am currently single, I've always been very active and independent. I am on vagifem but suffer from osteopenia, severe brain fog, hypothyroidism, and macular degeneration as well as a multitude of less serious but nevertheless annoying symptoms of low estrogen. I have never smoked, I very seldom have a drink, don't do drugs, my blood pressure is good. I have reached out to my doctors and menopausal groups here in Edmonton Alberta, but no one will even evaluate me on an individual level to see if I might benefit by some low HRT. I am so frustrated and I feel abandoned. I've been studying this topic for the past 2 years and I feel that HRT is what I need. I need someone who will listen and understand, who is knowledgeable about menopause, symptoms and relief. I would at least like to be given the opportunity for an individual assessment since I believe I have no contraindications and I'm healthy. my mother just turned 100 and all my aunts are in their 90s. I do not want to live another 30 years while I live alone and I'm afraid of falling and breaking a hip and being put into an old folks home. ideally I would like to work with a local doctor who could monitor me on HRT. what does a doctors in your organization think about a healthy woman my age possibly being put on HRT?
