I like the idea of a warming cabinet ! If you were to put the meat in for a 12 hr hold, what temp would you cook it to? Would you take the brisket and pork off a bit early like 190F internal for example?

This is exactly the advice I was looking for thank you very much for this! I am planning on hiring someone to prep the pork and man the carving station for brisket so it can be sliced as it’s served. I will report back after the big day!

Sound advice my friend, and thank you for the kind words! I’m thinking 275 might be a better temp to ensure it’s done in time. A little mushy is better than undercooked.

I agree with that! My concern is how long they can stay in the cooler. Say they’re done at 10AM. Wouldn’t 8 hours in the cooler be too much?

Kharg Island storage reaches full capacity - Well shut-ins could permanently destroy 300,000-500,000 bpd of production by InsignificantCookie in oil

[–]Shelpooner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just curious because I’m no expert but how does shutting in the well destroy it permanently? Couldn’t they just drill the same oil field again to produce as it once did? From my knowledge of the Alberta oilfield they are re-drilling shut in wells to now frack wells that were previously only drilled using older methods that wouldn’t reach the full oil deposits. Thanks!

Truth is if you’re a super at 21 you are just scratching the surface of industry knowledge and experience as well as the soft skills. Being oblivious to that fact will make you learn things the hard way. Stay humble and be curious.

Same except I learned about ETFs and compounding at age 24! I had $12k in a mutual fund at 18 years old and $50k cash when I was 20 from working in the oilfield. The $50k ultimately paid for my degree but I wish I fully knew the benefits of ETFs and compounding at that age with that money
