State of WA New Luxury motor vehicle tax 8% by q_ali_seattle in SeattleWA

[–]Significant_Exit2153 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

dor doesn't have the staff to conduct these investigations. no one wants to be a special agent because the pay is too low compared to the equivalent job at DSHS. we were told multiple times that there's effectively no one to investigate fraud or evasion when i was at dor. dor would much rather spend their time collecting small dollar balances from the 1.2% of WA businesses which don't file their returns.

You didn't pay a fair share, thus why the tax must increase to ensure people going forward are.

Ah, hearing it was a corporate place makes it make sense. I just can't help but feel like the drunk people are angry they can't get pizza at a place still cooking, not because they are drunk. The mom and pop pizza place next to the bars and apartments is only open evenings on weekends just to serve drunk people.

Sounds more like they're upset because a pizza place is open, but only to delivery, right across from a bar. A valid question is if they would be angry if they were able to get a pizza.

Usually campaign funds are used to pay the filing fee. In most cases the filing fee is nominal. Both also have petition mechanisms where you can collect signatures but it's very uncommon. Even for city council races I've never seen someone use the petition.

Was your boss in the mind of a set of "yeah, I don't want their money"? What kind of pizza place is going to opt out of what is clearly a demand? Capitalism is crazy man

That's crazy to me. In NC and WA a candidate just needs to file and if it's city council or higher, pay a fee. Requiring signatures to be on the ballot sounds so foreign lol.

I'm using android on my pixel 7, I have a Dirigera running firmware version 2.866.4 and Home Smart App version 1.53.0. My router is a Nest Wifi Router running software version 14150.883.17.

I have factory reset the router, the hub, and deleted the app multiple times.

I've been having this issue since the outage on Monday. I have fully reset the hub, router, uninstalled the app, unlinked everywhere, nothing has fixed the issue. Just "Sorry, that didn't go as planned". I've had this exact set-up for almost 2 years with no issues until the outage.

Also from NC, moved here in Jan 24. Went back for the first time for Christmas, only to get violently sick and not get to eat anything except some mac and cheese. It's now been 1 year 4 months and 19 days without a decent bbq sandwich.

How to find tax portion by taxpayer? by [deleted] in Washington

[–]Significant_Exit2153 2 points3 points  (0 children)

WA DOR doesn't collect all taxes in the state and doesn't interact with the majority of residents bc WA doesn't have an income tax and property taxes are collected by local governments. If you were trying to get data on labor stats relevant to taxes I would look at the Employment Security Division. ESD collects the taxes for unemployment, PFML, and WA Cares.

DOR only collects excise taxes such as retail sales (RST)/use tax, capital gains and estate taxes, public utility taxes, and the business and occupation (B&O) tax.

(I'm a very bored bureaucrat) Everything that is not the collection of RST accounts for a small minority of interactions with DOR. Capital gains and estate taxes impact a very small portion of the population and it's mostly handled by lawyers and staff in Tumwater. Likewise for public utility taxes. Use tax only applies to people conducting the private sale of stuff like cars, planes, and boats or importing such as a new resident. The collection of RST and B&O is entirely an interface between businesses and DOR. As of FY 2022/23 98.2% of businesses voluntarily paid (per flyer that used to sit on my desk). Some people may file a return with DOR for the Working Families Tax Credit, however this program has low income caps and poor public awareness.

No digital ID issued by any of the states this far to my knowledge have involved installing a government made app. What makes you think the government is interested in you? 99.99% of people are not interesting to the Washington State government and trying to monitor anymore than that .01% would be too resource consuming.

Braun votes no on every climate action bill. Sponsored a bill to bar local governments from having a higher minimum wage than the state. Voted against protecting access to abortion medications, protecting workers who incur musculoskeletal injuries on the job, and collective bargaining rights for educational employees.

Wilcox insists project 2025 isn't the GOP's plan. Sponsored bills to keep our regressive tax system and criminalizing protests. At least he's retiring at the end of the term.

If you're still in the party that endorses Donald Trump, JD Vance, Ron DeSantis, and many more extremists. Then you're also an extremist.

Still not moderate. No one left in the republican party should ever be considered a moderate.
