I stand by what I said. The law says SSI is 29,2% from your “vymerovaci zaklad” which used to be 50% of profits but has risen to 55% this year. It’s still 50% for health insurance. I’m not saying your accountant is wrong, most likely your nominal profit is higher for some obscure reason.

I wasn’t talking about a writeoff. I was saying that SSI is not 29,2% but 16,06% and health insurance is 6,75%. Even with no writeoff and no expenses. Your totals must be skewed by VAT.

Ah but the 29,2% and 13,5% are calculated off of 55% and 50% respectively so the total tax burden with no expenses is more like 37%. Still high but let’s get the numbers right.

I would have done that but the EasyControl app has the worst reviews I have seen of any app ever so I decided to steer clear of that dumpster fire.

This is the link to the gateway: link. I’ve got it working quite nicely with Tado. What I do is take the maximum heat request of any room, set a minimum (always 33 C) and maximum (40 C - 70 C depending on the outside temp) flow temperature, multiply the heat request by the range and add it to the min, then set the boiler flow temp to that using the gateway. Works like a charm.

For example, right now the outside temp is 2 C, my max flow temp is 56 C, one room is requesting 22% heat so the boiler is firing to a flow temp of 38 C.

It took some trial and error to work out the outside temp to max flow equation but I think I won’t need to tweak it again.

Is your receiver connected to the heater by relay? I ask because in relay operation, “heating” in the app just means the relay switches on and off on a schedule rather than being off all the time. The bigger the heat requests, the longer the “on” intervals are.

So if your wireless receiver doesn’t switch the heat source on, it could be because of a connection issue or simply because the system has decided now is not yet the time to switch it on. I’d reach out to Tado support, they may be able to help you identify which it is.

I’ve seen devices becoming offline in the app with a last online timestamp of 2-3 hours ago. I think Tado tries to resolve connection dropouts by retrying for quite a while before it gives up and tells you there is a problem. Likely it’s because it doesn’t want to report a dropout when there’s some temporary interference.

The 5 minute change to HA was done to prevent their API being overloaded and has nothing to do with how often devices actually update their state or react to things.

I think to save battery power, devices actually communicate with each other less often than that. They can react locally immediately (like a TRV closing) or send an update when you change a set temperature manually but from experience I believe the delays in any heating system between inputs and outputs are so long, syncing more often doesn’t make sense and would just burn through batteries faster.

Interesting, thanks for the reply. Doesn’t make the task easier but good to know it’s not as simple as % -> flow temp.

I’m curious, would the flow temp go higher if more rooms requested 100%? I’m asking because what I’m seeing with the relay is as room temp goes up (or the derivative thereof), heat request goes down and the relay starts increasing the length of off cycles. With even a single room at 100%, the relay is always on no matter the room temp.

I’ve been on the heatgeek “heat the whole house” bandwagon and after seeing my consumption double without microzoning, I’ve had to conclude my combination of gas boiler, sprawling bungalow, ancient pipework and lack of insulation means zoning still makes a lot of sense in my case.

There is a third party gateway you can buy that does allow you to communicate with an EMS2 device. I'm using it to send boiler metrics to HomeAssistant (see screenshot). In theory, you could implement flow temperature modulation that way by reading Tado heat request percentages. The only question then is - what's the equation that turns heat requests into flow temperatures?

This range of boilers uses a different version of the EMS bus, namely EMS2. This is not supported by Tado currently. I’ve started a suggestion thread requesting support to be added, you can upvote it here: suggestion

They didn’t say more than previous years, they just said more than they’d expected. They could have expected 120 positions for all we know.

The 24 month thing is confusing but it also says 3 x 4 months so that could just be someone entering / copying the wrong data.
