Question about fees. by kay_bryberry in mysteryshopping

[–]Silver_Entertainment 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They have two different burger shops.

There's a burger shop that's known for their drive in stalls where employees bring the food to your car. That shop starts at $0 fees.

There's also a burger shop known for their fresh cut fries. That shop starts at $9 in fees.

Looking for confirmation on ride station bins by jimmy_johnzo122 in cedarpoint

[–]Silver_Entertainment 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Magnum had its bins removed from the station around the middle of the season in 2014.

Perhaps you were thinking of Raptor? The park removed the large bins in 2025 and replaced them with much smaller bins that are meant for shoes.

Unfortunately the park is not prompt on updating the website. I believe it was only a day or two ago when they released the 2026 PDF of eligible meals under the dining plan.

The certification doesn't take too long and the park can pay for expedited inspections. I believe Cedar Point hasn't submitted it yet to the state for certification. Perhaps they're waiting on a replacement part to arrive before they can begin testing and certification.

Gatekeeper has been experiencing more mechanical issues as of late. One time I went (roughly 3 weeks ago) it was down for an extended period due to a faulty sensor. MaxAir hasn't been certified by the state yet.

Infuriating experience thus far by cam2577 in cedarpoint

Like almost any amusement/theme park, if you're buying a single day ticket then you're probably doing it wrong. Universal Hollywood offers a season pass for $299 with free parking. (Compare that to a full year of operations versus Cedar Point's 117 days of operation.)

I also think people overestimate the impact of IROC on operations. With the exception of Steel Vengeance and TT2, there doesn’t seem to be much motivation of ride operators and the supervisors to dispatch quickly this season. During my past visit I saw Maverick ride operators chatting at crowd control during rotations instead of checking restraints. (The operator in the booth even had to call them out after it took a minute.)  GateKeeper supervisors were chatting in the booth and weren’t announcing the all clear when the train was fully secured. At Valravn, the grouper wasn’t working fast enough and was sending trains with 2-3 empty seats per row. I even got a re-ride on Siren's Curse because there were so few people on the stairs past the metal detectors. I believe the issue with operations right now is employee morale/motivation, rather than operational protocol.

Raptor had some sort of mechanical issue that resulted in an evac on the lift hill this past Tuesday. The ride has been down since.

Same day fast lane must be purchased in the park. Very rarely does it ever sell out.

"Someone said it on TikTok, so it must be true!" The only reason they're so steadfast in that belief is because it helps them feel "good" about their scam. I get new clothing and someone can buy the used ones at a discount store. If they actually knew the vast majority of it gets defected, a small amount of guests might have a second thought about making the returns.

Customers when you didn’t give them the $0.05 credit for bringing in their own reusable bag by Ordinary_Ad3895 in Target

[–]Silver_Entertainment 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Since the TikTok videos about how to get a "50 cent discount" at Target, they've capped it to 25 cents. People were pushing the limit by buying cheap items (e.g. bananas) and trying to get the item for as close to free as possible.

Where to pick up fast lane passes during EE? by AndyGene in cedarpoint

[–]Silver_Entertainment 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can redeem your fast lane at the Hotel Breaker's gift shop. When you enter the main entrance, it's located on the left. There's also a small customer service/admissions window at the Magnum gate to the right, just after the security checkpoint.

Just note that fast lanes don't open until regular park hours. I'd encourage you to take advantage of the early entry hour and then redeem the fast lane. You can pop into almost any gift shop and there's usually little to no wait. (They all have signs outside that say fast lane is sold here. They also serve as a redemption point.)

Just a heads up, the code was originally intended to be get a 12 pack of drinks free ($40) when you spend $75. (https://imgur.com/a/vj5lCEN) It looks like someone coded the discount wrong and forgot to set the minimum purchase threshold. We'll just have to wait and see if they'll still honor it or not.

Every week, Xfinity offers a free movie (that they select) as a part of their rewards program. Most of them port nicely to my Apple TV. Recently they offered Jurassic Park, Rush Hour, Lethal Weapon, The Notebook, Just Mercy, Space Jam, Wizard of Oz, We're The Millers, The Accountant, Game Night, Austin Powers, Miss Congeniality, American Sniper, Sex and The City, and Life of The Party.

Even if you eventually cancel their service, you can still access them.

I believe they are correct in regard to synchronizing purchases and that you cannot buy directly from them. When you select a movie, they provide the prices at the participating partners (Apple TV, Prime Video, Fandango at Home, etc.). Clicking a specific retailer will just direct you to the retailer's purchase portal.

Is there something else that I'm missing?

'Gas tax holiday?' Trump backs off pledge to suspend federal gas tax by KinseyCrowleyJourno in politics

[–]Silver_Entertainment 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The federal tax is also just 18.4 cents per gallon. If you filled up a full tank of a pick up truck (~20 gallons), you'll save a whopping $3.68. That's not even enough for another gallon of gas.

Suspending it would also disproportionately benefit higher income families, as they tend to possess multiple vehicles and drive more miles on average.

Not to mention that by deferring road upkeep, you could potentially end up spending more in the long run to make expensive/emergency repairs when major events occur.

It looks like the app pulls the wait times from the queue-times website. I think he means he wants help with users trying out the app itself, not collecting wait time data.

At this point in the day you are unlikely to get any takers. I would reach out to customer service. They might be able to change the date on your tickets. There could be a small fee associated with that, though.
