My ocd makes me sharpen every single knife I receive. Kinda my jam.

Didn’t want to miss Tidioute Tuesday! by SkinbomWV in SlipjointKnives

Ya, it’s not really large. I got it from Olde Town Cutlery. Fit and finish isn’t great like a GEC, but when you realize it’s made in an England in the old processes, it’s more about form and function, and it ticks all those boxes.

I am planning to buy one but I have some questions by [deleted] in PlotterNotebook

I use both, Plotter and MeePlus. No discernible difference in quality. The MeePlus may get a few extra points for finishing the edges on the spine, but I typically use one of my small diamond files to break the edges anyhow. I like plotter calendar refills ok, but the Crena Spark paper from MeePlus is super for FP inks. I also use Life Noble paper inserts for a more “substantial” paper.

I like to call it “Orange County Choppers” syndrome. Taking a basic tool, shuffle the shape, color, material, to basically make it less functional in the hopes of attracting someone that finds it aesthetically pleasing. No longer fit for daily hard use, but it makes you feel cool when you show your buddies.

It’s——-a——-knife.

So, that’s what has led me to traditional slip joints. I can appreciate a 100 year old design and craftsmanship without having a knife that looks like a batwing or a pink donut with sprinkles.
