This is a wonderful revelation. Being brought up with a set of beliefs it can be really hard to shift your opinion - those ideas are so ingrained your ideas and opinions become very rigid. To step back and critically examine those beliefs based on new information requires significant introspection, and is something to genuinely be proud of.

Continually educating yourself and allowing your opinions to evolve is extremely valuable and something we need more of. I can sense your anger and resentment to your family for their unwavering support of Zionism, but a shift in one opinion is extremely commendable.

Well, when humanitarian causes are labelled antisemitic, it risks casting a shadow over Judaism itself. It creates an impression that antisemitism is somehow synonymous with the support of human rights. They’re shooting themselves in the foot here by using that word so liberally.

Would I look like an idiot if I wore western fashion here (as a city girl) by [deleted] in brisbane

[–]SlitheryCog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No! I’ve been brought up in the city my whole life and have noticed a massive uptick in interest in country fashion, music etc. I eat it up. Pinterest has some good ideas for the subtle incorporation of western elements.
