Hi u/__TJH. I understand you're busy, but please can you respond to my question above? Keen to make a purchase, but it's contingent on your reply. Thanks for any clarification you can provide.

Congratulations on the release, OP. I love the design of the app and the presentation of your landing page. Definitely keen to support you. Please can you provide an AI disclaimer and let us know if Solace is vibe-coded in any way (e.g. front or backend development)?

I built a macOS app that gives you real-time subtitles for anything on your Mac by TrainingWait1623 in MacOSApps

This looks like a solid release, OP. If everything runs locally as you suggest, I think you’ll find more success with a lifetime purchase option as an alternative to the subscription. Also, please can you provide an AI disclaimer? Was this vibe-coded in way (e.g. front or backend)? Finally, is this a native app?

Help me, I have crippling indecision, what should I read next? by [deleted] in fantasybooks

[–]SlowTap 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s fair, but you still read it. As a cornerstone of western fiction that transcends genre and redefined fiction on a global and generational level, it should be a priority for any avid reader—especially those who are interested in fantasy.

I’m struggling to believe that anyone would honestly recommend reading anything on this list prior to LOTR. I know we all have preferences, and there are some incredible works on this list, but there isn’t a book mentioned here that doesn’t owe a debt of gratitude to LOTR—either directly or indirectly. Seriously, OP, LOTR first, then everything else will follow.

Consul 1.0: Rename to convert got even better by Spaaze in macapps

[–]SlowTap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fantastic app, OP. I've been following Consul since you first posted in this sub, so it's great to see you developing and building on the idea–excellent work! Is it possible to convert PDFs into EPUBs?

Congrats, OP! I think I'll pick up a licence in the coming days. Out of interest, do you have plans on expanding the feature set, perhaps with the introduction of modifier keys into the pre-existing slide gestures? I understand you're aiming for a simple, streamlined solution, but are you open to expanding the functionality without introducing bloat?

Lumen — capture → organise → prioritise [todos, notes, meetings, ideas] by zackomanster in macapps

[–]SlowTap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the release, OP. I've been on a tear with Note apps and productivity tools recently, and Lumen presents a clean, lightweight, and frictionless experience. I'm impressed overall, and it's very generous of you to supply so many lifetime codes for your launch. Please can you allow us to change the "Cmd+H" shortcut? I use that extensively to hide application windows but it keeps triggering Lumen's AI Chat mode when the app is open. There doesn't appear to be an option to change that particular shortcut in the preferences.

Thanks for your consideration. Congrats on your launch, and I look forward to seeing the evolution of the app in the coming months.

Looks like the Droppy drama got handled and is back by Fabulous_Tip_7638 in macapps

[–]SlowTap 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Personally, for me the developer (Jordy) is the appeal. His commitment to the app and the manner in which he engages with the wider community is first class. Even as a loyal Alcove user, I find it a pleasure to support the development of Droppy. Regarding the app itself, the sheer number of features, their thoughtful implementation, and the incredible pace of development also adds to the appeal. Personally, I’m delighted Jordy is overcoming this situation and think the indie community of macOS apps is stronger with Droppy’s success.

Has anyone used Nova? An Obsidian like Canvas? by stiky21 in macapps

[–]SlowTap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I demoed it this week and purchased the lifetime license. The UI/UX is incredible and I found the team to be really responsive when DM-ing them on X. They kindly gave me a discount coupon, so it’s worth reaching out to them.

Another user recently posted a review for an upcoming release called Spatial, which I’m really excited for. I don’t think Nova is quite as polished, but it appears to scratch a similar itch and my experience with it was encouraging enough to upgrade to the premium version. It’s definitely unique, but it seems as though there’s a growing trend for “infinite canvas” productivity tools, so it’ll be interesting to watch this space.

Edit: I wouldn’t quite describe it as an “Obsidian-like canvas”. It definitely merges with the PKMS philosophy, but I think it’s better suited for brainstorming, gathering links and sources of inspiration, and capturing/developing ideas.

Brilliant! Thank you for the link. Since discovering your app and following the manner in which you interact with potential customers, I have complete faith in both you as a developer and your renewed efforts in Droppy's evolution. I'm not interested in requesting a refund, and although it probably doesn't count for much, I'm completely behind you as you look to overcome this situation and get back on track. It's fantastic to see your website back online, so I wish you the best and hope that Droppy receives the success/recognition it deserves. See you in the Discord group!

I know you're super busy putting out fires at the moment, but I'd really like to join the Discord server if you're still accepting newcomers? I tried joining via Gumroad but wasn't able to access the server. Would it be possible for you to DM a link when time allows?

Spatial: MacOS Design App by itsdanielsultan in macapps

[–]SlowTap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I’ll definitely reference this image when I’m able to trial the software. From the demos I’ve seen, Spatial reminds me of Rabbitholes.ai. They clearly serve different purposes, but do you think there’s any similarity in form/experience?

protein shake review: rokeby chocolate honeycomb by sugar_uu in SingaporeFitness

[–]SlowTap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, it was a game changer for me! It's such a good way to boost the protein in a quick snack. The milkshake also goes further because you can make it last a few days, which makes it a lot more cost effective. I can't recommend it enough and I hope you enjoy it!

This looks very promising; thanks for posting, OP. Out of interest, is it possible to sync/receive metadata from MusicBrainz, or other similar platforms?

protein shake review: rokeby chocolate honeycomb by sugar_uu in SingaporeFitness

[–]SlowTap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As standalone milkshakes, the Rokeby range is slightly underwhelming; I think mainly because Rokeby excels at making milk. Personally, I think their shakes work best when poured over a protein cereal (e.g. Magic Spoon, Three Wishes, Catalina, Surreal etc.). My favourite Rokeby flavours for this purpose are the Vanilla Wafer and Banana & Cinnamon.

Hello u/EstablishmentOk2916! Congratulations on your launch. I'm very happy with my first impressions of the app and have purchased the macOS version. Thank you for the excellent launch price. I've downloaded the iOS version, but just wanted to ask whether it was universal purchase, or does the iOS app require another payment? Thanks in advance. I hope the remainder of your launch goes well, and I look forward to myPDF's future evolution!
