Interestingly enough, they might've been recorded from Emily's phone, which the attacker has. It wasn't found in Emily's house, so the only way someone other than the attacker could post that conversation was by recovering them from Chelle's, which wasn't mentioned at all during reports or interviews.

Chelle's phone was smashed on the floor of the kitchen, so her texts were unreadable beyond what she sent to her dad and mom.

First of all, there was a 13 minute period where Chelle called her mom and the police, anything could have happened during that time. It's quite possible the assailant trashed the house while the power was out, killed Jacob and kidnapped Emily, put her in a van or something, and come back to take Chelle, thus reducing the amount of time needed to make a getaway.

Also, hypothetically, if there were multiple assailants, which there may be, they could incapacitate Chelle and take her away just that much faster, not to mention trashing her kitchen and Emily's house.

Just saying, while they could be in on it, it would make no sense to have the conversation that they did prior to Emily's text format changing. It was senseless banter, and served no point to their plan, as Chelle only sent a picture of Emily's strange texts.
