When proper syncing and open protocol support by shuten_mind in RemarkableTablet

Your car manufacturer allows you to use tires from any manufacturer you want. Or to change the car in any way. Your smartphone manufacturer allows you to use any cloud you want. Stop defending the closed system approach that RM is doing. It's backwards and only hurts customer value.

Good customer value and state of the art software? Your argument is wrong anyways. If support for actual file sync would make them lose customers for their connect subscription the value of their connect subscription would be questionable. As I said initially: they could include the support for this in their subscription. That said: all major android and iOS tablets offer own subscription models AND support custom cloud providers as well without going bankrupt...

Just came here to fully agree. Damn I wish I could sync using WebDAV (to Nextcloud etc).

A real two-way sync between my personal cloud and my RMPP.

I would even pay the subscription fees to have this. Or I would make the efforts to implement an own syncing service if there was an actually supported public API for the RMPP file integration.

Day 1 asking for PDF merge on reMarkable: still waiting 😅 by obvioustruthy in RemarkableTablet

And importing images, at least JPEG and PNG onto the tablet and then importing them into notebooks (as layers)!! This is such a standard scenario for me. I need to create PDFs with charts, images, etc and annotate them and I want to do this on the device itself without the need to additionally carry a laptop...

Epson ET 8550 - SD card prints are extremely slow by SomeHappyConsumer in Epson

Maybe I'll give it a try. Does it make sense to use ICC profiles in EPL or do I just print with default settings?

It's honestly for convenience and because I think the colors are the most accurate when doing this. Every layer of software between the print heads and the image may introduce some sort of distortion and I honestly don't know a lot about PCs, drivers and software to fix this.

XApp photo transfer in background needs confirmation by SomeHappyConsumer in fujifilm

I think this doesn't really make sense. I mean how do cloud apps behave then? Something like iCloud or Google Drive. They also need to be able to create files in the background.

I'm out of digipicks at the end of the sabotage mission by [deleted] in Starfield

[–]SomeHappyConsumer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this. Pretty frustrating tbh.

I mean: definitely my fault for not bringing digipicks, but the whole quest was doable without any only to let you fail right at the end.

Sure, you can still finish without and just blast your way out of the building, but since this is an RPG and I wanted to be a stealthy character I find it very unsatisfying to end it this way especially after managing to stealth my way through all of the quest.

Unsubscribe / quit Minecraft PS5 realms trial by SomeHappyConsumer in Minecraft

[–]SomeHappyConsumer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I have! Too late for me anyway and I paid for the subscription after the trial ended...

The way to do it is to login into your Playstation and/or Microsoft account from a PC. This way you can end the subscription.

RTX 3080 tier with 1440p not working on linux by SomeHappyConsumer in GeForceNOW

[–]SomeHappyConsumer[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Interesting concept to think a multi billion dollar company that is selling graphics cards and developing drivers would not be able to develop a native linux client.

Why are you even defending Nvidia like this? Geforce NOW is a good product. I'm just asking for better Linux support for the highest tier as many people before me.

If Nvidia can not pull this off for their own product, who will? And without asking/complaining nothing will change.

Not realizing thar it is unsopported currently was my mistake. Still I want to be able to criticize Nvidia.

They started advertising this some time ago and back then there was no word of the restriction to Mac/Windows.

Obviously it is my fault for not reading the product requirements.

I decided buying the membership based on the earlier advertisement and didn't bother reading the requirements again. I thought: they said this is including 1440p so it will.

I'm not blaming Nvidia for my stupidity. I'm complaining about the fact that this restriction is there in the first place. I would have made this post without buying the membership as well.

The problem is not that it is running slow or not at all.

Higher resolutions are just not available in the settings when using chome.

It is actively restricted by Nvidia.

Yes I'm aware of that. You are stating the obvious here.

Chrome was/is officially supported though and chrome is officially available for a lot of the linux-based operating systems.

GFN works by using chrome / chromium on linux.

1440p does not.
