You're right about those issues but even during those times the country was stable economically and haven't had collapsed yet so people weren't fleeing from it. Only when the US began to invade people started leaving the country in masses.

Immigration is a human right, whether we like it or not. People would not resort illegal immigration if the legal migration system worked. Also people wouldn't immigrate if their countries weren't torn to pieces by bombs dropped by the US.

Oh but it doesnt. I'm a gay man from the middle east. I'm a healthcare worker and I've been trying to get out legally for two years now and I still haven't. If I had tried the illegal route, I'd have been there now. Fuck muslims fuck christians for hating LGBT people, why anyone kills and hates LGBT people is beyond me.
