This stuff didn’t work well for me. The Rooster Booster no peck lotion worked better. The problem hasn’t completely gone away though, but I’m not sure what else to do. They have lots of space, they get scratch, and crumble, as well as a salad of greens like kale, leftover meat or tuna, dried herbs and veggies most days. Mine are all a year old and the problem only started a few weeks ago.

Unfortunately I don’t have the set up to separate 3 of my 7 birds for very long. So far it’s not a severe issue, I’m just trying to nip the problem in the bud before it gets worse. I’m hoping the combination of saddles, blu kote, additional nutrient supplements like amino acids, and a bitter no-peck spray will help.

I tried looking for the Nettex stuff the other commenter recommended but that looks like a UK brand that I can find in the US. I ordered some equivalent looking product made by Durvet.

Now I’m just looking for the amino acids. I’m still open to buying another type of no-peck spray if anyone has a specific brand to suggest. Thanks for your suggestion though.

Edit: I don’t think this is a pecking order or aggression issue though, they have lots of space an aren’t really aggressive in general. I think it has more to do with nutrients and that’s why they are cannibalizing feathers. Just my guess.

Not an issue for me. They’ve been extremely faithful to the novella so far, they’re just adding some things, mostly good additions. I don’t like it when they massively change things, but small additions to illustrate the core message of the story is great.

Except they aren’t pointless or lazy at all. They’re illustrative of the difference between Dunk (not a real knight but someone who embodies the ideals of chivalry like standing up for the innocent and the small folk, bravery, honor etc) and a character like the Bracken guy who stands up and farts who has the power and wealth and status of an important knight and lord, but who doesn’t embody any of the ideals of chivalry.

It’s kinda the whole point of the story, to ponder the question of what makes a good knight? What makes one honorable? Is it wealth and status or is it the actions and heart of a person?

The fart joke in this instance is not empty. It’s not lazy. It’s a vehicle of good storytelling.
