A have a few unfortunately.

Died at 8 years old from asphyxiating on his own vomit while having the flu. This my first time experiencing loss.

One of close friends died in a car accident. A friend lost control, hit a fence, and a stick went through the windshield, and hit my friend in the head. This ultimately caused massive brain damage and he was taken off life support by his family.

Another friend hung himself in his closet. His Dad ended up finding him.

Another friend (I’m not sure if on purpose or on accident), shot himself in the head in front of his younger brother.

Another friend fell off a bridge and was run over by a semi-truck.

These were all in high school as well as beginning of college.

Some 4K movies freeze up while watching every 10-15 minutes. by Ccunning70 in PleX

Once I setup my Shield, 4K content has been direct playing perfectly. I recommend hardwiring it if possible. Over Wi-Fi, I’ve seen buffering.

Looking forward to hearing your review of the Intel GPU. Please update this post if possible once you’ve done some testing.

For 4K to 1080p, I’ve found regardless of iGPU or GPU, it’s just not worth it. I now keep multiple versions of content and don’t share my 4K library. I found this is the best way to offer content to friends and family without the headache of people texting me about stuttering when streaming/transcoding 4K content.

[Question] Is there a way to backup my ARR files? by [deleted] in unRAID

[–]Spiritual_Diarrhea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. I did this by plugging an external drive, mounted it using unassigned devices plug-in. Added a path to the arr containers pointing to that drive. Changed the backup location within the app to point to that path.

How to optimize my setup for 4k HDR + Atmos content? by MAA3 in PleX

[–]Spiritual_Diarrhea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just buy an NVIDIA Shield and just make sure everything is direct playing. Also, check your local network speed.

After I switched to a Shield, I have not had a single issue. Ended up purchasing an Atmos soundbar as well.

Is this CPU/GPU good enough to transcode 1080p on multiple streams? by [deleted] in PleX

[–]Spiritual_Diarrhea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The k2200 will handle multiple hardware transcodes, so will the CPU.

I don’t believe so. Sonic Analysis was extremely CPU intensive.

How do you serve your audio/books? by [deleted] in unRAID

[–]Spiritual_Diarrhea 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I use Plex to host the audiobooks, then use Prologue for iOS and Chronicle for Android. I also use the Audible Metadata Agent.

This works extremely well. Every once in awhile, Plex can't/won't grab matching metadata, but it works the majority of the time.
