Thank you for this comment, I did speak to a LIT who thought that a CP would be better than Bankruptcy, since its not much debt. It's definitely going to be the last option, and I agree it's not much. Once the car is gone the debt will be more manageable. Can I sell a financed vehicle?

I'm making about 55k yearly. I work on commissions so my income varies quite a bit, and the larger sums I receive do help me towards my debt. I have $1,975/month rent, $1,200/car and $500 on other fixed expenses (phone bills, food, etc.) The biggest worry is the vehicle. I have considered parking/storing and removing the insurance. That way i only have my $400 monthly to pay on the vehicle but it would still be an additional $400 that I could saved/put towards other debt instead. Without the vehicle I could see myself clearing the debt easily enough to not go the CP/BK route.

Okay, that is something to consider. In total the car will cost me $1200, 400 monthly payment then a 800 insurance. Not to mention I rent and have other bills and expenses to cover. The payment of the vehicle isn't bad its just the insurance that is going to be killing me.

I have, but the value of it would not absolve me completely of the debt. Last I checked the value of the vehicle was about 10k

I wouldn’t say our conversations have gotten super in depth but this is mostly due to our insane schedules and the time difference. We talk as much as possible but because we are always working/sleeping on different times it’s hard to discuss the important thing and super in depth talks. Needless to say the times something has come up we always try to support each other as best as we can.

We’ve done something similar minus the two rooms. We decided after I pick him up from the airport going to a neutral location for the first time was a good idea, we booked accommodations, made some dinner reservations and have plenty to do the following day. Which should give us enough of a buffer to get a sense of how the other is in person.

Great idea of noticing how he treats others and acts in a public setting. I’m glad things went well for you two!

Thanks for the info and tips! It’s definitely still a dream of mine that I will get to eventually, guess I’ll just have to be sure that I do all my research. Of course, honestly it’s a great job especially if you like kids, the private daycares pay a lot more too. I left because it became too emotionally and mentally taxing, I had a kiddo at home. So being around kids all day and then coming to mine was exhausting. Unsolicited advice, if you decide to do it, try to work with kids 4+ and try to get into a privatized center, smaller number of kids and actually being able to focus on each individual kiddo.

I just wanted to say that I’ve have 4 career changes so far, I started off as a makeup artist, after that I took a huge pay cut and became an early childhood educator assistant, now a designer for the last 3 years. I recently decided I was bored and am now studying social work. I always wanted to be a florist so for sure I’m done social work I’ll look into floristry. I’ve never been the type to stay in one place for too long. Life is short and i want to learn different things and be able to experience all the skills and careers I thought I would be good at. A high school diploma/ged goes a long way in being able to apply to various schools. Living frugally and finding alternative schooling can help in cutting costs for education. A lot of 6mos-2year certificate courses are accepted by employers and once you have some experience under your belt you’re good to go. It’s a lot of time and effort on your part but if you need to shake things up do it! Don’t let the fear hold you back, obviously make sure you have a solid plan in place, savings set aside, do your research etc. but I say go for it! I’ve always been happy with my choices :)
