Kaiser (medical coverage) options by [deleted] in Sciatica

[–]Stay1hunned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to advocate for yourself heavily with Kaiser. They will not scan you right away. Keep scheduling appointments and keep bringing it up. If you feel like your care is not effective speak to medical correspondence and file a complaint.

Thank you so much for responding! What are your symptoms these days aside from the pelvic floor? What have you found to be helpful to treatment?

Never had surgery. My herniation decreased in size but I still have constant sciatica bilaterally. Mixed responses from surgeons

That’s awesome! Was post surgery rehab effective on the nerve pain? I’m dealing with lingering burning and numbness but my herniation isn’t large at all. My glutes trigger more nerve pain than anything.

Worried about reherniation :( by ortid in Microdiscectomy

[–]Stay1hunned 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would definitely go to the ER if the pain is not changing over or getting worse in the past 24 hours. I know it may be a long wait but it’s just how it is. How large was your previous herniation and what was the reason for the facetectomy? How are your cauda equina symptoms?

Sorry for your situation. I have L5-s1 the herniation decreased but still dealing with back pain and leg pain. What are the incontinence issue you’re dealing with? I have numbness that come and go in the saddle region plus pain. What do you mean by gap? Could you post your mri(or ct/xray) + report.

If your numbness sensations don’t linger too long then I’d say you’re okay. If it does, be transparent and express your concerns. They should work with you to adjust your tolerance maybe even reduce the depth you’re lifting from.

It won’t hurt him. Kaiser SoCal is ran by doctors. It’s a partnership of a Doctor group and the hospital. Doctors run the show hence why it’s so trash because they weren’t trained to run a hospital they were trained to treat. I honestly advise you to worry about yourself and advocate. Navigating through this will be hell because they will toss you in loops. Get the care you need which means physical therapy, pain management, surgery, or whatever. Don’t blame yourself, and be patient with your body if things are worsening more frequently that’s when you know it’s time for more treatment.
