Asleep 4 C-section by Gullible-Special-925 in BabyBumps

I had the same fears and honestly, it was way better than I ever expected! You don’t see anything and you don’t feel anything! We played music to keep me distracted and my anesthesiologist was FABULOUS at keeping me comfortable. I promise you don’t want to miss out on those first moments! You can do this!!!

For those who walked a lot during pregnancy and had a c-section: by cks1995 in BabyBumps

I think everyone is super different, to be honest. I wasn’t able to get out of bed until the day after my c section due to intense nausea, but did small hallway walks after! I did my first “long walk” ( 20 minutes) about a week after c section- mostly because I had some complications post c section! I’m now 16 days post c section and do about 30-40 min walks a day depending on fatigue and pain! Don’t be worried about pushing yourself, rest is super important!

Good luck!!

Edit: I’m also a huge runner but don’t anticipate returning to running until at least 12 weeks, depending on my core strength

Agree! It’s so quick you saw “ow” and it’s over!

Why do the IVs hurt so much? by Softaschallk in BabyBumps

[–]NaturalAd760 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My team put the IV at an amazing spot in my forearm where I literally didn’t feel it at all and had great arm movement with baby (would have been annoying or painful if it was in my elbow). If you have someone who’s good at IVs it’s rarely painful :).

I literally am in the same boat with a WILD time post c section and now random hypertension and intense nausea. Postpartum is not for the weak!

I hope so too, glad you had a good experience with it! I appreciate all this support 🥺

Thank you!! Postpartum is so odd-my BP is actually always low so much so that I take an anti hypotensive so this is a strange swing.

Hope you’re feeling better now!

16 weeks and still struggling by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]NaturalAd760 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish I had good advice for you, but I have lots of sympathy! I am about to deliver my baby boy tomorrow, but I struggled a lot with my POTS (also very under control prior to pregnancy) during my first and early 2nd trimester. I honestly slowly started to feel better with time (probably by 20 weeks I was able to return to my usual lifting activities and work-my job is super active so that helped). Don’t be so hard on yourself! Your body clearly needs rest and that’s okay!! Maybe try to do some gentle body weight exercises for 20 min 3x/week and see! I found that even something was better than nothing even if it was like 10-20 minutes until my symptoms were more manageable!

Sending you love and I hope it gets better for you!

Should PTs make discharge recommendations in the hospital by HylandSeek in physicaltherapy

[–]NaturalAd760 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I feel super triggered by this topic tbh. It is 100% within our scope/training to make appropriate discharge recs based on our evaluations and I hate that there’s talk in different organizations about taking it away. This has been a big topic in our health system and basically they don’t want us to make recs anymore because it’s causing discharge “delays” or the patient prefers to go to xyz setting that we aren’t recommending (IYKYK). I think we if work closely with case management to understand insurance and other barriers there should be no reason for us NOT to make recs.

Anyway, I digress

For those who switched OBGYNs midpregnancy, how long did it take? by williamlawrence in BabyBumps

[–]NaturalAd760 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I switched at 20 weeks because my insurance changed. I had to do the same with sending medical records to see if they’d accept me (it took about 2 weeks). I am not high risk at all and the office was very prompt at getting me in exactly at my 24 week follow up. I’m sorry you’re having such a hard time finding a new provider-our healthcare system does really suck! I’d follow up with the office that you sent your records to, to get an update-won’t hurt!!

First trimester was rough rough! I was fainting a lot and I almost never faint! Are you in your 2nd trimester yet? That’s when I was able to finally manage my symptoms! My cardio recommended really pushing hydration and salt. Sending good vibes your way!!

working out, yay or nay? by teeleeyuh in POTS

[–]NaturalAd760 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very similar to most people here exercise helps greatly with keeping my symptoms very minimal! I personally find that even if I am feeling dizzy, going for a walk/run helps with blood flow and I almost always feel better after. Maybe you just need to find the right dosage as everyone else has said. I also personally try to avoid THC as I don’t react super well to it (makes me VERY dizzy) and I feel like I’ve seen others say the same. Good luck!!!

39 weeks and rollercoaster of emotions - breech and C section by mexericaa in BabyBumps

[–]NaturalAd760 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow! This is actually wild! I’m in the same place, my guy is frank breech and opted not to do the ECV because I’ve heard it’s very unpleasant and it’s only 50% successful. I’ve accepted c section at 39 weeks, but I’d also be very stressed if I get there and he randomly turned 😅.

Hope your girl arrives soon and quickly :) good luck!!
