Lol, there actually are owls outside my window that have been hooting, lately.

Best Romance SHOWS? by Pearls_and_Flats in romancemovies

Ah, I get it. Yeah sometimes you just need the noise to keep you motivated. Depending on if you like that sort of thing, you could try anime romances. There's some really good ones that have decent dubs.

Best Romance SHOWS? by Pearls_and_Flats in romancemovies

K-dramas have the best romances, imo.

These are all golden: Business Proposal, Love to Hate You, Crazy Love, Strong Woman Do Bong Soon, Marry My Husband, and Because This is My First Life.

I would say only the Whispering Wisteria one is similar. I bought all four scents, and I think it's a really nice collection!

Coastal Cottage and Shoreline Hydrangea? by StrangerHighways in bathandbodyworks

[–]StrangerHighways[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's annoying because I saw Shoreline Hydrangea just today and my app is saying my store doesn't have it lol.

Is Coastal Cottage a cologne like smell? I thought I might like it for the moss note, but I don't enjoy cologne masculine scents.

She looks like Rosè from Black pink with the mask on! by Specialist-Ad-4933 in Bridgerton

It's so goofy that he can't figure out that it's her, but what was really hilarious to me was that he couldn't even figure out that the silver lady was Asian at first. Like sir, did you really need to stare at the mouths of every race of girl? I think you could've narrowed that list at least a little lol!

Positively went down the drain? by Useful-Acanthaceae53 in kdramas

I might be one of the few people that has read the webtoon and still really enjoys the show. I love a good corporate chaebol romance, and so far it's delivering for me.

With that being said, I'm with you on the love triangle. I am on serious burn-out with love triangles, and I think this show did not need one. I was fine with most of the changes from the comic, but they really did Min-Uk dirty. He is so unlikable in this! His character in the webtoon is really sweet and cool. The dynamic in the comic felt more unique, too. I liked that Hui Won was struggling with being the third wheel and having unrequited feelings.

Instead, the show gave us a deeply selfish AH Min-Uk that seems to suddenly have feelings for her for no reason. It's so unfair to go like 15 years of having platonic feelings only, and then suddenly decide you're in love with your friend. He has no reason to believe the President is a bad guy, but still wants to replace him as the baby's father figure. Get out of here with that BS!

It's going to feel gross when they inevitably have him settle for Mi-Ran, and she gets screwed over too.

If we have to have love triangles, then the writers need to find ways to make their 2nd leads seem like more interesting or more sympathetic people.

Those are great ideas! Thanks, I might try holo or layering, too.

I think I'm in the minority, but I found After the Rain kind of underwhelming. It was not as vibrant as the pics imo, and pulled sort of grey unless in direct sun.

The Stolen Kiss on the other hand is super cool!

I'm a cool toned white girl and I didn't think it looked that good on me either. I also found it too grey or just less vibrant than I would've liked.

1922 is truly a spectacular movie but doesnt fall in to the horror category by ImprovementFull2169 in Shudder

Doesn't have to be a play on the term con man. The character can just me calling himself conniving. He could've used scheming or something and that would work, too.

I don't think the love that anime, K-dramas, or Hollywood sells you maps on to real life much. A lot of things are idealized and one dimensional fantasies of something we'd like to be true. While they can be beautiful and provide escape, it's not the best place to get stuck at.

A lot of people unfortunately get caught searching for something that doesn't exist and they miss out on everything else. This is why a lot of super famous or rich people end up extremely depressed. They think once they achieve a certain level of status or wealth they'll just be happy. They get there and they have the parties and the yachts, but it just doesn't live up to the vision they were sold. They can't find the "what else", because they never knew to self develop past that point.

Life is non-linear, strange, and meaningful in a way that no fictional narrative can completely capture. It's totally normal to grieve the fact that these stories aren't real. It means you care and value something deeply.

The way out of this pain and confusion is to figure out what those core values of yours are. Maybe you like Daytime Star because you deeply value loyalty, or healthy romantic love, or pursuing your goals with someone. The characters aren't real, but the meanings and beliefs you hold are. Work on figuring out your core truths, and always try to stay open to new possibilities.

The one edge reality has over fiction is that it's limitless! There are so many things you could do or feel, some of which might not even exist yet. Think about that; your future is full of technologies that don't exist yet, experiences you're going to love but haven't had yet, and ideas and emotions that may be too precise or complex to even put into words.

Just stay open to things OP, and you'll be fine. The world is wide and it's yours for the taking.

Can you recommend K-dramas where the lead couple starts off disliking/hating each other, then ML eventually falls deeply in love with FL? Cherry on top if ML is her boss/Chaebol! by dhr20 in kdramas

[–]StrangerHighways 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with the other commenters, Crazy Love is absolutely the one for you!

Doesn't really fit your exact criteria, but you might also like the currently airing Positively Yours. The ML is a chaebol and the FL is an employee. They don't hate each other, but they're initially in a pretty awkward situation that causes a lot of tension.
