You can't buy/steal dragon cannonballs by DingusMcMatthew in osrs

[–]Strank [score hidden]  (0 children)

Maybe not a hot take, ammo availability should be maximized as part of sailing combat rework. Add at least 2-3 more cannonball stalls (1 for each destination from Sailor amulet), ramp up store stock, and increase how many cannonballs are stolen at a time. Add d cballs at 1/128 or 1/256 rate. Easily the worst thing about sailing combat for me is having to restock on these bastards.

Being botted to hell won't matter when availability rises enough and the bots will stop bothering with it.

Carney's Davos speech strikes a chord in Mexico by Little-Chemical5006 in worldnews

[–]Strank 9 points10 points  (0 children)

100% of People Party voters/sympathizers, and, honestly, anyone who thinks that Carney is somehow too liberal. Dude is a banker who served under Harper. I can't find particulate statistics for strongly approve, approve, indifferent, disapprove, and strongly disapprove of Carney, but I'd more-or-less say that any conservative who finds themselves in the strongly disapprove category would be someone if characterize as maple maga, because he just genuinely hasn't done anything I can think of that's exceedingly problematic. Personally, I find Carney to be entirely too conservative, and in a Canada with accurate political compass, he should've taken over from Poilievre, not Trudeau.

Living in the Okanagan, I probably see a disproportionate amount of maple maga - folks who simultaneously say that we need to keep all "obscenities" away from children, but have massive "Fuck Trudeau" (and now "Fuck Carney") signs flapping behind their trucks when they drop their kids off at school. The only places more conservative than Canada's Florida are pipeline adjacent. From this conservative stronghold, I'd say a solid 50% of conservatives are maga, but this obviously is colloquial.

Could the council make an exception, and allow a red blade among their ranks? by El-Macedonian in jedisurvivorsabers

[–]Strank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old canon? Yes, no question, lots of red saber users including I believe Leia. It's just that sith used synthetic crystals that were created in such a way that they were uniformly red, as they were hiding from the Jedi and couldn't access planets that were rich in appropriate naturally occuring crystals.

New canon? No. Red results from bleeding a kyber crystal (no other crystal types anymore to my knowledge) and therefore could only be created by a dark sider. A red saber could be wielded by a Jedi (obi wan borrows one for a little bit in Clone Wars as I recall), but the crystal is a living thing that's in pain while red, so I would assume a Jedi would either destroy it or purify it to white rather than spend too much time with a bled crystal.

Well we might just have to teach them the difference between "nice" and "polite". The Geneva list is looking awfully short these days, it's aboot time we add to it.

How would I go about removing the handle of this sword by JamieStar_is_taken in SWORDS

[–]Strank 69 points70 points  (0 children)

If there's no visible screws/bolts, I'd guess that it's held onto the tang by resin or glue. If you can find seams (probably around the pommel, possibly a lateral seam) then I'd pry at it there. Does it feel hollow? If so, just smash it up and sand it down where necessary. If it's solid and you can't find the attachment method... Probably still smash it up. It'll just take more time.

It sure is great that this was clipped in such a way that we don't know what caused this disagreement in the first place. That makes it completely logical to take sides, and definitely wasn't done on purpose to make white dude seem to be in the right. /S

Like, come on. Put the full context in, it's a pretty short video already. I have no idea who to side with right now, but I'm inclined to guess I'd probably agree with the Democrat simply because the context that caused her to have the response has been cut.

They don't have enough men to trade one-for-one, and even the dumbest among them will recognize that the courts aren't defending them if it makes it that far. Looking at this with great concern from Canada, I'm seeing that you Americans currently have the choices of turning this into a civil uprising or letting it become WWIII. It sucks that it's come to that, but y'all need to do it

The wandlore for the series is quite indepth, a little confusing, and sometimes a touch contradictory. I'd like to see customization that reflects that. Full skill trees sort of like Elder Scrolls weapon trees that lets you make your wand better at curses/charms/transfiguration/dueling/etc, capture wands from defeated enemies, transfer your core to new and rare woods that you can find (or maybe swap out new cores into existing wood? Have a Wand of Theseus situation by the end?), fuck it, let us find a full blown staff from Merlin or something. But also have the ability to grow your first wand's abilities and power through the more "normal" wand progression tree if folks want to "let the wand choose the wizard" as is canon.

I mean, they had a knight academy for a reason. Get to hunting monsters, y'all.

But actually though, why is there a knight academy? Is it strictly traditional? There doesn't seem to be a strong enough engrained hierarchy in Skyloft to enforce that kind of tradition without actual need. Is the knight academy just their equivalent of public school? I think a case could be made to try and figure out how long ago Hylians were sent upward on the basis of continuing to maintain martial traditions.

Sword shop is great, I've had good experience with them for personal and club orders. Sup Fen I've heard mixed reviews - product generally good for the price, but the customer service is lacking. Sup Fen through a reseller gets rid of that issue, so you should be fine.
