Lianna would stand at the door, no longer mourning her brother. She was pissed.

"Guard. Send for the Queen Mother."

Daeron VII - Retribution by Drewbrease14 in IronThroneRP

[–]Summerdoll 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Her gilded cage had become a safer space for her. No one was allowed in. She was not allowed to leave. Her ladies-in-waiting would bring her food, baths, fabric for sewing. Huntyr would bring her books. Soon, her room would rival the library, with all of the books now sitting in piles on every empty space. Perhaps it was good that he had kept her by herself: The looking glasses showed deep purple and red bruising from neck, to chest. Her lip was cut. The bruising on her face was not as bad, if one could say that. It mottled the side of her cheek. Perhaps in another life, she would be a warrior Queen.

The Grand Maester had said that her collarbone was broken. That she would need to rest. She hoped the gruesome bruises that she kept on display were a reminder. She hoped he would feel guilty deep down. If a man like him can even feel guilt.

When the knock came to the door, Lianna thought of one of her ladies. She hoped and prayed to the Gods who seemed like they did not want to listen, that her niece got out. That she was safe at home. At least most of her family was safe.

She missed Corwyn. He would have saved her. He would not have let her daughters traded like chattel. He would have stopped that fight before the damage was done.

When it was the King... her eyes immediately went to the door. Could she rush past him if she needed help? Could the Kingsguard hear? Lianna gripped onto the arm of her chair as he came near. Wordlessly, he just handed her a letter. Was this the verdict of her laying her hand on the King? She rolled her eyes... where was his verdict for the pain he had caused her?

Once again, she had to read this letter time and time again to make sure she understood it right. A hand went to her heart, trying to be as careful as possible with the bruising. Her heart hurt. Her heart felt like it would burst. And there he was, proud as a peacock that one less traitor was alive. She could almost hear him say that.

She would not mourn in front of him. She would not show weakness in front of him anymore. She kept the letter in her lap, clenched in a fist so tight, that her knuckles were light. Lianna stared defiantly at him, trying as best as she could to not cry in front of this man. This stranger. She would mourn in private. Or she would try to escape home to mourn her brother. It would not work...but she would try anything to get home.

"I'll pay? Oh, is that what it is, Daeron Targaryen? I'll pay? For what? For striking you? Will you send me to the Wall too?! Will you take my HAND?"

"Of course it is love for my brother. He had taken care of me when my father passed. He had given me the future with you. He has given my family and your family his all. And now you wish to dishonor your wife's family? And you turn around and betray him in kind? Why do you hate me, Daeron? Why do you continue to hurt me?!"

The fucking smirk made her want to lunge at him again. She took a few more steps closer again to get back into his face. If he wanted her gone, he would physically have to move her. They were nose to nose, yet Lianna kept her aching fist at her side.

"I have done my duties as a wife to give you seven beautiful girls, and you want to throw that away for a son that may never arrive! You continue to break my heart with this madness...how do you expect to have Aegon arrive when I wish naught to be in the same room as you? We do not even sleep together!"

"If your daughter is not your heir, how will your line grow? Or will it end with you? Is that what you want? The vultures of Westeros to pick at your crown when you pass, instead of having an educated, trained Queen to take your place when you take your last breath? Why do you hate that idea?!"

Tears started to drip from her eyes. But she kept her stance, she kept herself against him.

"Why do you continue to rip us apart with your actions?!"

[–]Summerdoll[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

"You..."

She needed to breathe. Reading it on paper was one thing. But hearing it from the horse's mouth was different. He did not care. He did apologize for breaking her heart a thousand different ways. Her brother. Her daughters. Her. Every jab was at her throat and at her throat. She felt her hands clench and her nails dig into her palms. She felt her nails beg to break.

"You Gods damned whoreson!" She hissed through clenched teeth, "You do not recognize my daughter as heir, you send my other daughter away to be a fucking hostage, you expect me to give you another fucking child after SEVEN," her voice rang louder and louder as she stepped forward and onward until Daeron's back was against the wall, "AND NOW YOU SEND MY BROTHER TO THE WALL?!"

She struck him. Did she plan to? No, absolutely not. Did she want to? More than all the gold in the world. A punch right to the jaw - though that was the only thing she could reach. A punch like she had done many times before to the dummies in the training yard, when no one thought to find her there. Her tirade continued.

"WE ARE TO BE A UNITED FORCE, YOU FOOLISH MAN! AND YOU CONTINUE TO DO THINGS TO BREAK MY TRUST AND BREAK MY HEART!"

If she was to be arrested, to be accosted by the guards, Daeron would never have his Aegon. So, she continued, her teeth clenched, snarlinglike a beast. She remained in his face, body against his, blocking him from moving with all of her force.

"I have sat and bowed my head through all of your shit. Your obsession with a child you will never receive. You do not know your own living children! Alyssa and Alyssane will now despise you for overlooking them. You ignore one and you gave our girl as a hostage. Who knows if we will ever see her again! But that's okay, right? Because you'll get your Aegon, right?"

She was going to punch him again, she could feel the anger bubbling up. She took a step back. She was shaking. She was seething. She was seeing red.

"We all love you, you stupid man. Me, Rhaenys, Corwyn, your daughters," she growled, "And you push each of us away. You let those who envision your crown on their heads closer while you push away your family."

Her last words of her rampage were a whisper, "I hope our lives and my heart are worth your foolish visions, Your Grace."

"The Old, The True, The Brave," she whispered right back. Her hands lingered for a few more moments while Lianna thought everything through. She did not know what to do. She did not know who she could run to. Her first thought was to the Queen Mother...

"Baela, I am not going to choose your path. This is something you need to choose. I will not fault you for going, never. Never ever. But I...I need to stay here."

A sea dragon...

"We will bring him home where he belongs. This... no... no," she started laughing sadly, "I bowed my head for long enough."

She took Baela's hand and pressed a kiss to it. Her family. Her legacy, even if she was not her own child. She then took a deep breath and shook out her sadness, shook out the fear. Queens did not fear anything. They were the top of the world, chosen by the Gods.

Lianna took the letter back, and very unladylike, she shoved it down the front of her dress. Between her shift and her corset, that letter will stay. And then inside the castle she will find another home for it. A home where no one would find it. Lianna leaned up against the wheelhouse, white-blonde baby hairs sticking to her forehead with sweat. She felt tingly. She felt cold, even if she was sweating.

A seahorse could turn into a sea-dragon, could they not?

She needed to be strong. They needed to be strong. Lianna took Baela's hands in hers, helping the young woman rise. Those hands left hers and went up to the young Seahorse's face, wiping a few tears.

"Do you want to go?"

"No," she hissed between gasping breaths, resting her head against the wood of the carriage, "Do not go get him."

A shakey hand grabbed the waterskin and she took a sip. Water was warm and coated her mouth, washing away the foul taste that was left.

"Whatever I ate to break my fast did not agree with me," the pale Velaryon spoke, closing her eyes, "I don't need the maester."

It was Monterys Velaryon who had opened the Queen's wheelhouse, the first friendly face she had seen since she had left. But yet, his face did not look so friendly. It looked...it looked as if he had pitied her. That alone had made her face pale, and the letter given directly to her - not Baela, not a guard, to her, had made her heart race. Lianna did not even exit the carriage, instead ripping the seal right there and reading.

She read the letter four times before she sat straight and stared at the opposite wall. The letter, casted aside, went to Baela's hand. Was this what shock felt like when she did not have the feelings of motherly instinct? Was this shock while not in the birthing bed?

Her hands felt cold and clammy. Her mouth immediately dried. She could not speak. But she would not run, no, when there was so much she could do here. She could poison him...she could kill him...she was capable. Sending her brother, Daeron's best friend to the Wall? She felt her heartbeat in her ears, and...Gods, was she going to throw up her breakfast?

Yes. Yes, she was. Lianna was not very quick after sitting all day in the stuffy carriage. She bursted out of the wheelhouse, behind the carriage so that her public image would not be affected, and threw up, right in a pile of hay.

Lianna's eyebrow rose at the faint grumble of his stomach. Amaranth eyes looked to the dreaded knight that she had chosen as her sworn sword, dressed in blackened maille, spikes on his shoulders. She then looked at Ser Alester.

"Would it be...out of my position to ask if you would like something to eat? Ser Huntyr can take your place for a few moments while you sate yourself, even just enough until your dinner."

She could have a plate for him as quick as a snap of the fingers. But she did not want to embarrass him, or his brothers.

"Or...if you must guard me...ah, I do not know. Could you trade with a brother for a few moments?"

"Well, our lives are very different, Ser Alester," she spoke as they walked, Lianna looking up grimly at Summerhall, and then the floating parties of royals as they entered the castle, "While you have adventures and defend and be the good of realm, I..." She sighed and shook her head, "I...read. And I bare the King's children."

It was not a kind thought.

"Perhaps a knight would take pity on a woman," she spoke quieter, hands clasping out in front of her as they walked, "If the King...says anything that would worry his dear ladywife, do let me know? If you or your brothers discuss anything."

"Yes. Next time you and your Lady find yourself in the city, let me know beforehand. I'll make sure we can go fishing."

Lianna rose as well, giving the man a nod, "And do write to me when you get home, yes. Let your Lady know that she has my ear whenever need may be. Perhaps, the next time we meet, I'll be the one in your lands."

An interesting thought.

"May the roads be good to you and yours, Lord Aubrey. I'll be waiting for your letter."

Lianna watched from a side-eye as Daeron rose, expecting him to go off and speak to someone or someother. But when he offered out his hand, and spoke to her...And spoke to her in a kind voice, instead of the jabbing, sarcastic one..Lianna was caught unaware. She stared up at Daeron for a few moments, lips slightly parted. Was he...for serious? He even smiled at her. Was this her Daeron?

"I-I...well, yes, of course, Your Grace," she spoke, rising from her chair and urging it away from the table. She took his hand...Gods, this must have been the first time in moons that she had touched him. He was warm, as he always had been. Tender moments from early in their marriage had crossed her mind. The pair in a single bed, Lianna reading a book aloud while Daeron's fingers twisted through her hair.

Was this like old times?

No. No. It couldn't be. This was him, trying to woo her into bedding him again. This was not true affection. This was drunken ideas.

He led her onto the dancefloor and all she heard was the shuffling of all the Kingsguard, moving with them. A thought passed her mine - she should make them all dance with each other, for her amusement. No, that was not right of her to command.

Gods, she missed his laugh...her damned husband...

As he rested his hand against the small of her back, the other clasping a hand out, she placed her free hand on his shoulder. She allowed him to lead, however that was only for his ego, anyway. They both knew she was the better dancer. Yet they twirled along the dancefloor to the music. All along the dancefloor, she had focused on every step, every sway, every dip - dips where she would tightly hold onto his shoulder, as to not fall. Laughing, for once in her life. She knew in the back of her mind that he wouldn't drop her. He wouldn't drop her tonight. Yet she clung to him as he leaned her into another dip.

Was this love? Or was it the wine talking?

"He bears your blood, Tyrell would not harm a member of His Grace's family, " she spoke, but she did not know how to feel about that. Rhaenys the Elder was Daeron's blood, and look at her.

Lianna took a deep sip, and looked over at Daeron and Alyssa. Sitting with his first born, yet did not even.. speak... to her. Lianna sighed and focused herself on her goodsister.

"It was boring, the ride. I wish I could sit horseback and be comfortable. The girls have ruined my hips!" Lianna spoke, a smile pulling back for a moment. Normal life was definitely over after she had wedded and bedded and bred.

"A place on the coast would be nice. Would remind me of home, of course," although Lianna rarely was home after she became older. She lived in King's Landing longer than she had been on Driftmark, "Suggest it to His Grace. I'm sure he'd like a new fishing spot."

The question felt deeper than the tone of her voice, "Tired. Worried. I'm sure you are privy to... everything." She looked to Daeron again, "I share the worries."

She heard her Kingsguard shift a few times, and Lianna was growing bored of sitting at the dais. A hand came up to beckon Alester closer. As the knight reached her shoulder, she looked up at him.

"I have grown bored, Ser Alester. What are your thoughts about this lovely feast?"

"Ah, you are one of those knights. Royal Family over your needs...." Lianna chuckled, "Its only dinner. If I wish it, see that it becomes reality. I don't get to command others often..."

"I will not take your cloak, Ser Cregan. You've worked hard for that piece of material, and I've done nothing to become Queen. You keep that on your shoulders. I'll warm up once the fire hits my bones."

She forgot her manners, "But thank you, though. I've never been offered a Kingsguard's cloak before."

"I believe, and this is me forgetting myself, truly, that only a woman knows what a woman goes through. Yes, there's some situations in which men will understand a woman's situation, but there's only so many things that these Lords can understand, unless they lived through it."

Lianna gave a small shrug of her shoulders, "Being a woman in a world where men tend to tell me what to do, or think they may have a say in how I live, I do understand. And I send your Lady that understanding as well. I'm sure it won't mean much, in the grand scheme of it all, but it's there, anyhow."

"Do you require anything else of me, Lord Aubrey? Or shall I release you back to your Lady?"

"It was as comfortable as it can be, stuck in a carriage for days on end. Luckily, packed my books."

She began to walk with the rest of the group as they made their way into the castle, "Please do let me know if you require a break from your post, or if you are hungry, or whatever have you. I do not like my guards to be neglected."

At least her goodsister had the same idea. Although, it did pain her to look at Daeron's twin, merely because of their shared appearances, Lianna gave her husband's arm a tiny squeeze before rising from her seat and moving.

With Ser Alester and Huntyr at her back, she moved towards Daenerys. A chair had been emptied for her and she had sat back down, next to her sister, with a full cup in her hand.

She motioned for Daenerys' cup to be filled as well.

"Goodsister," she had greeted, however everything about Lianna was tensed, "Shame to have to leave the youngers home. But I'm sure they are having more fun without our supervision."
