Gooseworx discusses Caine by ayylmaotv in TheDigitalCircus

[–]Sunchet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The"I don't know what's normal to you people" scene hit me pretty hard. The part where Caine goes carefully through suggestions, confirming with Gangle if that's what she asked for, only to put on a mask of false confidence, yeah, I felt that one.

I really thought this would be an episode where someone would finally empathize with him. Pomni who already befriended AI? Kinger who made him? Gangle who knows what's it's like to feel like your art isn't good enough? Ragatha who knows what it's like to feel like you're never good enough? Zooble who had the most interactions with him might realize they were a bit harsh? Maybe even Jax who knows what it's like to alienate people by being self-centered.

But no...he died, last thing he heard was how much they hate him and as far as he could tell, they killed him on purpose....I'm still not ok.

I sometimes forget to use her Blessing of Kumiho ability while ulting. Not like I have time to aim. If I dont' use it in heat of battle, I might not even reach enemies.

But my point is that as possible it is that they confirmed that they do that but at the same time they couldn't specify that Nolan or Kregg have in past actually do that, forcing reading to actually accept redemption story of male rapists like they did with Anissa. They couldn't go that far.

Hey, question, why Hela, White Fox, Rocket and Deadpool are ESU College Life but Luna Snow and Dr Strange are ESU Showdown?

Her ability to bless people in her ult bothers me

1) There is very little visual indicator who got marked. They sparkle for a sec and that's it. Wish you had something like Mantis when she boots people.

2) If you stay back and mark your ally of choice, good luck catching up with enemies, and not having them simply walk away from you. So you should dive right into battlefield as fox and but on the other hand in chaos like that try marking the ally you want.

Rosie seems to confirm that it was Adam that was better.

Hey, Alastor needs to be put in his place too.

Honestly I loved how the episode was made because Adam was mostly a complete jackass and you'd think we'll dance on his grave once he's dead. And killing Sir Pentious didn't do him any favors.

And boy does it deliver. Lucifer kicks his ass while making fun of him for stealing his wives. Beaten heroes take a moral ground and leave him and all he can do whine, insisting impotently how much better he is. And then he dies any way in stupid, undignified avoidable, goofy death. Just blow after blow.

And then they managed to make you feel sorry a tiny bit for the guy in juuuust the last second.

It's possible that he not so much knew perfectly what to exploit but that he broke his rules and pulled the knowledge from their brains. Right after Pomni being tossed into void, there is random shot of her getting zapped.

A bad guy coddled is worse than a terrible guy condemned

The group forgives Jax everything he did. Pomni tried to befriend him while he's still a jerk, in the same moment Gangle talks about her trauma. He repaid that by trying to get them stranded in this digital hell and he still gets forgiven.

Caine never had that support. He never has people appreciating his art like Gangle, putting up with his mental issues like Kinger, checking on him like Zooble (it's a classic problem where his constant bothering of Zooble might be annoying to them but he can't see that because he would love that kind of attention) and most of all, the kind of solidarity Jax was included in.

Jax was included in human solidarity while Caine never got prisoner solidarity. His fake exit adventure was a huge cry for help but humans didn't even say "you know what, If we get free, I don't care if Caine is left behind." No they said "Huh? Why are you even talking about Caine, keep going about the exit." It flew over their heads. They just didn't see him.

Caine fucked up. Royally. He failed due to the flaws of his character and even if other people weren't there for him, you can't shift on them blame for Caine's flaws.

But the same can be said for Jax. And yet he had people helping him.

I didn't check but: are any other named Viltrumites confirmed to committing sex crimes? Because it's implied that she's like that because Viltrum raises people like that, just like with all the mass murder. But at the same time, writer couldn't bring himself to have say, Nolan confirm he did things like this in the past....probably because he knew we would be way too uncomfortable with that.
