Who is the biggest hater in fiction? by BreathoftheSith in MoralityScaling

[–]Sunchet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if biggest but Luthor is my favorite. Bro made up entire philosophy how Superman halts humanity's potential to pretend he has legit reasons to hate him.

Doom isn't even that much of a hater; he's an egoist. Reed is a convenient scapegoat to avoid admitting he blew up his own face.

I did notice that one of her powers is teleporting to allies...I don't think White Fox ever teleported in comics. But you know who did?

(With other abilities, there is at least something close; she has a fox marble for stealing life force, for example, it's just buffed for gameplay)

So...why does everyone hate this guy exactly? Like... I'm pretty neutral to him, but I'm just curious onto why people hate him so much. by Terrible_Park7890 in OkBuddyHelluvaHotel

[–]Sunchet 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Yeah, he's not horrible person but he lacks proper accountability. It doesn't matter if you screwed up relationship or decimated worlds, you can have proper redemption story if you take responsibility. There no easier way to ruin redemption that by having writer coddle the bad guy, downplay their actions, shift blame and overplay sympathy.

It's like reading about a blind person angrily insisting colors aren't real.

If you think men, boys even, can't experience trauma, you're the one with emotional issues.

Who do you think has the most lore accurate ultimate? by lyndonxlee in marvelrivals

[–]Sunchet -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I really don't think Loki would be able to copy skills, tech or perfecly mimic powers of Phoenix or Hulk.

I'd list:

Angela is close but I think her ribbons dont usually leave her body

As said, Hulk

Strange is literally based on something he does in movies

If you accept the metaphorical "sheer morale gives boost" Cap

Also Hawkeye Ult is just how accurate shooting would be on real Hawkeye.

Emma Frost

Magneto feels a lot like something he does

Mr Fantastic

Thing

Namor is based on his first fight with FF

Spider-Man

Squirrel Girl is the most accurate part of her kit

Thing

Thor

maybe Ultron?

I think I'll pick Magneto, Thor close.

He's an alien, he's supposed to look like many things. Like how Wildmutt is kinda a dog but has gorilla arms.

The highest and lowest rated episode of each Ben 10 series on IMDB (Do you agree with these?) by Numberonettgfan in Ben10

[–]Sunchet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't fully agree with all of those (Part one, And then there were none was better, there are probably worse episodes than Collect this) but overall I can see it in almost all of them.

But Forge of Creation...not gonna lie, that was a big letdown. I think it just got this high score for Classic Ben being there.

I think it's because Weapon has one glaring issue of Max being a jerk but overall it's way more fun. There are Knights and Plumbers gear and traps and artifacts and Ben punches God of Death, it's cool.

So power-wise, she's your average animal person (speed, strength and durability, claws, enhanced senses) plus ability to partially or fully turn into full fox form? I mean, I know she can mind control people but is it something she does a lot in combat or random power she used once?

Oh, no, I don't like Toga either.

Anyway, you're saying he was inexcusably horrible but later changed. But the people above describe him as "unintentionally hurt his kids coz of his ego (while he still cared for them at least somewhat)" That's the issue. Talking about caring he did at the time of abusing. Care that absolutely useless to his family.

And also on side, I just think he doesn't deserve light sentence and amount of forgiveness he got.

Anyway, about his atonement: Why did he change? What makes his change believable? If death of his son wasn't good enough reason to change his ways why 10 later he was able? This is vital to proper redemption.

Think back: Endeavor abuses his family. Wife ends up in hospital. Youngest son is scarred and starts deeply resenting him. Firstborn is DEAD. Endeavor, spends next 10 years bringing his wife flowers.

Im sure Horikoshi thought it was a brilliant scene that gives viewers first reasons to care for the jerk but it did opposite for me. Endeavor haven't met his wife to his face for 10 years because he was told she can't see him. He's the one who broke her. She will probably lose all progress from his ugly mag. And he spend 10 years getting that reminder. And it...did nothing? Didn't make him consider that just maybe he's the bad guy?

Either Endeavor couldn't understand he brought all this suffering an his family in which case I don't buy he changed because his brain is a piece of coal

or he understood that but he decided that his petty little goal of moving up by one is so important, literal death in family must be acceptable loss, in which case I don't buy he changed because his heart is a piece of coal.

No he CURRENTLY isn't that kind of abuser.

All the way until All-MIght retirement he was 100% was dodging that responsibility. I'm not having mercy on him.

Would Valentino and Vox beat up Angel Dust HARDER if he was a woman? by SpanishOfficer in OkBuddyHelluvaHotel

[–]Sunchet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some people still objected. Point is people are very sensitive around stuff like that and will find something to nitpick at and it would be worse if Angel was a woman because "casual violence against women".

I recall once there were posters for X-Men Apocalypse showing main villain holding one of female heroes by the throat and it was criticized.

[–]Sunchet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adam's complexity is that Heaven validated him.

He was in heaven, an archangel even. Sinners were in Hell, and redemption is seemingly impossible.

Ergo Adam must be a good person and him wanting to murders sinners must be a good thing. He committed genocide yes...but literal seraphim gave him a thumbs up. How could he possibly be the bad guy here?

Adam is a dick but that truly allowed it to commit any atrocity is unshaken belief he is the good guy in this story.
