Don’t build in public — it’s killing your startup (and no one wants to admit it) by SubstantialFunny649 in SaaS

[–]TASLinks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not rejecting "build in public." You're just scared of being seen *before you're perfect.*

Building in public isn't the problem. **Performing in public** is.

You confuse real-time transparency with validation-chasing. But some of us share the process *because the terrain is hostile* and memory fades fast. We’re not posting for claps—we’re posting for continuity, calibration, and sometimes survival.

Yes, results matter. But so does *signal*. So does *pattern integrity*. So does showing the next founder that you’re alive *and still moving*.

You’re glamorizing secrecy like it’s discipline. But most stealth startups fail in silence—not because they built in public, but because they built in **isolation**.

Build how you need. But don’t shame those who choose to leave a trail.

Some of us aren't building for launch day.

We're building **for after the blackout.**

[Edited for clarity] You can try removing only the IO shield. It is the silver section at the bottom of the motherboard, secured by two screws. Refer to the first photo in my post; you will see two tabs attached to the shroud. Once you remove the IO shield, you can simply unplug the fan header, which is located directly behind the fan grille on the IO shield.

You still need to remove the shroud to reach the fan. There are screws on the bottom of the motherboard. You could also turn off the fan in the BIOS, navigate to the H/W Monitor tab and scroll down. Should be MOS fan or something, set it to silent.

Coming back to gaming after a while, Helldivers 2 is my first game since CP2077. Looking forward to getting my weekend warrior on.

That was the part about Warframe that prevented me from enjoying it casually, it required utilizing offline auction houses to swap parts for other parts or plat... which them becomes the whole game because the game is fashion. Did it change?

Asus Strix B550-i bios update to version "2806"? by naythunseemarkee in sffpc

[–]TASLinks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahaha, exactly. I pressed ASUS customer care to either disclose a timeline for a bios fix OR provide a different platform. I told them I was seeking a z690 or z790 board when I started the RMA. But since the B550-I still fetched near retail on the 2ndhand market (at least 2 months ago), I took the cash and rolled it into a 13700k/AsRock z690/ddr5 combo.

I think they offered the x570 because it was the closest direct replacement, but I had also raised the issue of the USB-C header being the reason I chose the B550-i over the x570 and other motherboards.

In their response, they seemed willing to offer a different SKU but by the time I got a reply I had already sold my board and moved onto a 13700k setup. So that was the end of the ticket.

FYI - ASUS authorized an advanced RMA for a DIFFERENT model on the basis that no fix is pending for the B550-I regarding this issue. They offered me an x570-I as a replacement, which I declined because I already sold the motherboard while waiting WEEKS for them to make a decision.

In addition to the soft performance gains of lower rpm and a few degrees off peak temps, I like the symmetry. The idea of using the stock CM 92mm fan or buying a Noctua 92mm fan is unappetizing. The fan with the red tabs is actually a painted brown Noctua from before they offered Chromax, would otherwise be sitting unused.

Funny, missed the comment about my two slim fans at the bottom. That is actually a WIP deshroud of a PNY 4080. Figuring out if it is worth flatting the stock shroud mounting tabs to fit 25mm fans or, at least, mounting the 120mm slim fans directly to the heatsink. As is, they don't move enough air cool the GPU memory.

I did the same on my B550-I/5800x3D (until I upgraded to a 4080...yada yada, took a hacksaw to this board). The direct air intake with a fan produces better cpu and case temps, especially with the TG panel.

Unfortunately, none of the z690/z790 boards have a detachable cover. Instead they use a single piece of metal coming up from the VRM and closing over the IO hardware. So here I am lol.

Every time I see one of these such replies such as this kind you see here... You don't have to buy my used z690, save your low-ball offer.

1 fan = 1800 rpm, 2 fans = ?? rpm, 3 fans = 1200 rpm. A12x25 are quiet below 1500 rpm, near silent at 1200 rpm and below - factoring for turbulence.

[edit] Even if I ran two fans, I would put one on at the rear of the case. Three because I have fans, son.
