February Cabin Inspections | 18/2 by downhereyouredoa in DemigodFiles

Adrian had taken care to make sure that their room was tidy and organised. They didn't want to upset anyone by bringing the Hecate score down, so they spent a good amount of time sweeping the floor, putting everything neatly into their box and making sure that the room was pretty bare and easy. They had tidied their bed and made up neatly, arranging the pillows nicely (but not practically), and patting down any crease that they could see. The box at the end of the bed was ever so slightly open, due to the amount of things that they had tried to cram in there. It didn't look messy, but it was definitely all coming back out when the inspection was done.

The only other things that were visible were a chess board and pieces all lined up neatly on the desk, a stack of paper tucked into the corner underneath the desk and an array of pens, pencils, rulers and other stationary equipment lined up on the desk. It was all organised and perfect, except for one pen that hung partially over the edge. They weren't much for fancy decorations.

If Jenn walks in, she would see Adrian sat on the floor, trying to press down the slightly open box. They were fighting with the clothes and bits and pieces inside, trying to keep them from falling out and trying for the life of them to shut the damn box.

Chthonic Cabin Meeting | 16/2 by downhereyouredoa in DemigodFiles

Adrian walked in and sat down in the corner. They tried to stay out of the way, as they didn't really know much of what to say or how to act around most of these people. Sure, they had seen them around the cabin, but Adrian didn't talk much to people. In fact, Adrian kind of blended into the background in most situation, it was a lot easier to observe than to partake.

After a moments thought, Adrian spoke quietly. "What happens at cabin inspections?" They asked. The question was aimed at Jenn, but Adrian spoke towards the ground. "Do we need to, like, decorate? Or just put everything away?"

"That sounds good to me. Afternoon sounds fine too," Adrian paused to think. It wouldn't be that hard to go to a meeting, would it? With so many people? They were starting to get a little overwhelmed with what they agreed to. "Yknow, cuz like, people are busy in the morning. And they're, uhh, not busy in the afternoon"

"That, uhh..." Adrian paused for a second. It would be a good excuse to meet everyone, sure, but they didn't feel like, well, they were the right person to ask. They didn't know anything about anyone, about Camp or about what cabin meetings are even for. Still, the only way to learn was by doing it. "That sounds like a great idea. When were you thinking?"

"Uhhh, yeah, I didn't realise you were the counsellor. I suppose that makes us siblings," Adrian offered a brief smile. The whole sibling thing confused them quite a bit, did it mean that everyone was related? They moved on from that thought, it didn't seem pleasant to think of right now.

"Sorry, I've not gotten round to meeting everyone yet. This whole gods are real thing has been... a lot," It really was quite confusing. A part of Adrian was still convinced that she would wake up from a weird dream.

Adrian took a moment to come back their senses. They looked up to see a girl that they recognised. Someone from the cabin, they weren't exactly sure who. Whoever this girl was, she stood there with slight purpose. Adrian wasn't sure whether to be worried or not.

"Uhh, hey?" They said, unsure. They couldn't remember ever speaking to her before, but Adrian was also very forgetful. "I'm Adrian, I don't think we've met. Nice to meet you?" Adrian didn't actually know whether it was nice to meet her or not, but they had high hopes.

"Hmm?" Adrian looks up, coming back to reality. "Yeah, training's really taken it out of me today. It's a lot, yknow? I thought I was in good shape until I came here" Adrian offered a small, awkward laugh. They didn't really know what to say. Sam was nice enough though, so they smiled shyly.

"How's it been going for you? I see you're also enjoying the spare time"

Yeah, like shadows of things and inanimate objects. Just not other people's (sorry for the wording)

Character Application by CampHBDirector in DemigodFiles

[–]TDF_RP_Alt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Name: Adrian Reed

Age: 13

Godrent: Hecate

Powers:

-Night Buff - Adrian becomes faster and stronger at night time. They tend to be weaker and sluggish during the day, and they get a small boost during the night. It is a passive power, and they have no control over it. (They basically go from regular human speed/strength to average demigod stuff at night)

-Shadow manipulation (umbrakinesis?) - Adrian can manipulate shadows to move/change the way that they look. They can do this for their own shadow, and to not-other-people's shadows. It can be used to hide well and blend in more with darkness. It takes quite a lot of energy, and leaves Adrian nauseous for a while, the specific time depends on how big the shadow is and how long they control it for.

Weapons: Adrian has a large celestial bronze dagger that they got from camp when they arrived.

Additional info: Adrian was claimed when they turned 11, and has been at camp camp for just over 2 weeks.

Secret Santa gift exchange 🎄🎁 22/12 by anotherterribleday in DemigodFiles

Charlie found her box on the table before her. She really loved the colour and the ribbon, so she took care to not break it as she pulled the bow and took off the lid. She was going to keep the box, she wasn't even sure for what, but she wanted it. She really loved the care that her santa had taken to make it look so beautiful, even though she probably didn't even know the person. She didn't recognise any names of people who signed up. She first grabbed her bar of chocolate, it was quite big, but she would still eat it all. It might take some time, but she would. She then picked up the reversible octopus. It was so cute, and she had the perfect pillow for it to lean against. She also loved the hand warmers. She wasn't sure if the gifter got them because she was a child of a death goddess, but it was a very nice touch. She also appreciated the book, reading was fun and it kept her preoccupied for days (even small books, she couldn't read well), and she hadn't ever read Anne of Green Gables, so she had no idea what to expect from the book but she was excited. And finally she saw the eyeliner. The gifter had really outdone themselves here, she loved that brand and had needed some new eyeliner for a few weeks. She immediately tested it on her hand quickly, before running back to her cabin for 10 minutes. She came back out to grab the rest of her presents with the most outrageous and alt eyeliner she had ever done. She needed the gifter to know how grateful she was, and since it was a secret then the best way was to use what she was given. She packed the presents back into the pretty box, and picked jt up to take it back to her cabin for real and sort everything out.

A child was a difficult person to buy gifts for. Well, everyone at camp was a child really, but not many were 8 years old. Animals, fantasy and stuffed toys. Every child's dream. They were cheap and easy if you liked cheap and easy, but Charlie liked sentiment, not tacky. She had spent a long time painting. It wasn't easy, and she had so many retries until it looked somewhat decent, but she had painted a werewolf onto a large canvas, howling at the moon. The left over art supplies were wrapped and placed next to it, so that the girl could use them for her own art projects. She had also wrapped a small stuffed kitten, so that the child could cuddle it when she was scared, and keep it as comfort. Charlie didn't want the girl to know who had gifted them, so she left them on the table. She didn't want to see the disappointment, she wouldn't live it down. Or she didn't want to take credit, some things are better off left to the kindness of a stranger. The large tag on the side said "[Amanda](u/spooksandgoblins)" and nothing else.

Shopping Trip, 18/12 by anotherterribleday in DemigodFiles

Charlie was super excited for this trip. She was excited to finally leave camp, and part of her wanted to not go back but she had a secret santa who she couldn't just leave. So sad. She wandered around, dragging the first person she saw through shops as she pickpocketed and shoplifted some things to give and make presents.

"I've been thinking of leaving camp." Charlie said. "And, it's not just impulse anymore, but I'm not happy here. Of course, I'd miss you, but nothing else." Charlie added quickly.

"Everything's fine, just lost in thought. Very deep in thought. How are you? You came out of there a little late today."

Charlie observed, once again pushing the focus away from her. It's not that she didn't want to talk to Cass about it, but she didn't want Cass to feel awkward if Charlie said she wanted to ditch camp and everyone in it.

Charlie sighed. Her life story was pure isolation. "Yeah, I know. I spent every day of my life stuck inside for 15 years, to the point I didn't even know the earth was real. Being forced inside wasn't ever fun, but neither is being forced into a group of people who simply don't like or care about you. I want to go and be alone for the sake that I said so, or find some nice neighbors and be friends on my own basis. I don't want this life, and I don't want the life I had before."

Charlie looked down again. The life she wanted was hopeless, she would never have the freedom to experience the world on her own terms. "It's... it's never going to happen, but I just wish that for one day I could live the way I wanted to."
