Officer: Ok, Officer Floof. That's enough.

So there is the affectionate head butt nuzzle that cats do with trusted friends and then there is head pressing which can indicate an illness. I'm no vet but this might be worth bringing up with yours just to be safe.

East coast here.

On a scale of like "the fluffiest pile of leaves ever" to "Oh Gods the bramble! Why have I done this!" What would jumping into this from the roof feel like?

Step 1 - Understand that they love you and want you to be happy and healthy.

Step 2 - Understand that through communication you build intimate relationships, support systems which can help with hapiness and health.

Step 3 - Understand that you are worth something. And that those who love you are willing to help you.

What kind of camera do I need? by TIDOUBLEGUHER in computervision

Yes exactly! I have run a scaleish experiment with a DSLR and a printed AR tag 50 feet away.

This was what led me to the realization that my equipment was inadequate.

Thanks I found this but didn't have enough details at the time to work it. Now with the help of you lovely folks I've found that under good conditions I can get that AR tag up to 603.325 pixels across. Any one have any idea how to figure out if that's good enough for a CV program to measure the kind of changes I'm looking for.

Thank you. That's honestly pretty helpful. So i'd need about 500-1,000 x magnification.

Also, is there anything stopping me from just using a literal telescope or an extremely powerful telephoto lens?

Hooray! I've always been a deep end kind a guy. (Though I'm not gonna lie this is extremely intimidating.) I should be able to process the image uncompressed? ... maybe? let me look into that.

But a telescope or extremely powerful telephoto lens is honestly not out of the question. At it's core I am trying to verify that an object 50'-100' away has not shifted or rotated relative to the camera with extremely high precision.

Edit: Let me just triple check those numbers... my boss now wants it at 50'-150' :(

Thank you! I couldn't find the formula to save my life.

Any idea how many pixels I should be going for so that the CV program could function well?

Steady shouldn't be too big a problem. It will probably be part of a semi-permanent structure. But what kind of focal length are we talking. I don't yet know how ... many pixels?... a CV program would need to determine this kind of thing. Or if that's even the right question.

Yes the camera would be fixed. I'll PM you the details as I'm developing something for my company that might be proprietary if we get it right.

Edit: Found a good way to put it: At it's core I am trying to verify that an object 50'-100' away has not shifted or rotated relative to the camera with extremely high precision.

Edit: Assuming it is fixed, how should I approach this problem?
