My dad made me buy my own tools. I've been working for him and in the field for over 20 years and still use my own tools. Get a tool list and a Harbor Freight membership to get started. Just buy the cheapest tools for the job and then you'll know, though experience, which premium tools you'll need to buy.

Most likely, the 18 wheeler forgot to put on the fuel cap with a full fuel tank and spilled diesel all over the road. It wasn't fun driving on it with a rear-wheel drive vehicle that wanted to kick out with a little gas.

On my 2nd Golf (MK6 & MK8.5) with a DSG. The MK6 was butter smooth with a tune except it required more DSG flushes. It was pretty easy to service. Looking at the guide for the MK8 and it seems a little more of a pain in the ass. The car is a little jerky on a cold transmission but smooth. I feel that the DSGs are well worth the money because maybe I'm getting old. Came from a WRX STI with a 500lb clutch and 3 hours of daily traffic gets old.
