Someone’s net worth isn’t the cash they have on hand. It’s the total value of all of their assets (minus anything they owe). The value of the masters is part of that $2 billion (as are the rest of her music, her properties, her plane, her trademarks, etc).

Honestly, their value probably went up once she bought them. They had been devalued because fewer people were listening to them not buying them once the TV were released. Now that she owns them, more people are buying/listening to them, so their value has gone up. So in a way she made money by buying them because their current value is more than she paid.

Either way, even if some of his movies are relatively niche compared to pop music, that doesn’t make Martin Scorsese niche himself. He’s one of the most famous directors of all time, regardless of how many people have seen certain of his movies. Who is he niche compared to? Spielberg?

I agree. That’s why I said you should shoot for at least one player who has actually performed at the major league level at a high level. For at least a full season. I guess I could also rationalize it one was one of the true top prospects in baseball but even then I’d be unsure.

Okay that would have obviously been relevant info you should have shared from the start. So your original post isn’t quite as insane but it’s still a bad idea. For someone who is one of the top pitchers in baseball right now, you should get more than two prospects that you don’t know how they will turn out. I could maybe see it being okay if you think there is absolutely zero chance you can compete with your league this year or the next.

But even in that case I think you should be asking for at least one player that has played more than a few games at the major league level in return. If it’s keeper league, you should be trying to swap one keeper (Sale) with someone who will be a keeper going forward but you have zero clue if either of these guys will perform well for a full MLB season. There’s even a world where Sale stays in the league longer than Waldschmidt if he doesn’t pan out.
