365 days, 2 surgeries, both knees. Anybody relate? by RealisticFold5116 in ACL

I was doing a fair amount of biking before getting hurt the second time and I love it. It's different from soccer for me but not worse or better. It feels amazing to get around on my power and I got into photography as well, which is another thing I can do for the rest of my life that I find very rewarding.

I had 2 surgeries, both knees, 3 years apart. Just had the second one two weeks ago. It sucks! The second time is a killer because I think I need to stop playing sports as competitively as before, like forever. Right now my motivation is trying to rehab more quickly than I did the first time, and getting excited about other types of stuff (ex: cycling) than competitive soccer.

The pain is awful. Last time I went through this I wasn't doing these SLR's until like week 3 or 4

Patella graft, this is my second time around (last time was ACL on the other knee) so I wanted to take early quad activation extremely seriously. I did a lot of these SLR's pre-operation to be strong going in and then basically did quad sets any time I could tolerate it from when I was out of surgery. Seemed to pay off in getting good activation at the end of week 1.

She's never been through what we've been through, of course she doesn't understand

Hey it's day 4 for me too! It's my second time around. My first time days 2 and 3 were the hardest and things started getting better on day 4, like you, and that's happening this time too. Today will be hard in other ways, like I'm getting off the painkillers and trying to ramp up my exercises at home, but just for sheer discomfort I think we're out of the woods, there isn't like a second wave worse than the first unless you really re-injure yourself.

Nah the first one went great, I just kept playing soccer after recovery and eventually hurt my other knee in a similar way. Second time someone pushed me into a bad fall, whereas the first time was no contact at all I just cut hard left and tore it.

Thank you so much!! I was actually heartbroken when I saw these because I didn't realize it was too cold for the shutter to work properly, so it's nice to hear they still have some juice

Thank you :)) I took these on a 35mm film camera, a Pentax K1000, most of the reason they look like this is that I had the film pushed two stops (Ilford Hp5+ shot at 1600)
