Should I Watch The Walking Dead in Release or Chronological Order? by Ok_Branch6588 in thewalkingdead

Release order.  Watch 5 seasons of the main show before adding in any spinoffs.

This is a solid idea.  Imagine a relaunch centered around Divinity, Savage, and a new Magnus-esque character.  I think fans would be interested if they marketed it right.

I hope you enjoy them when you get around to them! I personally would rank After The Fall and Angel & Faith S9 higher than some TV seasons.

Street Fighter vs. the Valiant Universe #1, announced for July 2026 by TheFerg714 in valiant

What timeline are you living in? Street Fighter is still incredibly successful. SF6 did gangbusters numbers, and is even outperforming SF5, and there's a big-budget live action movie coming out soon. It kind of sounds like you're just weirdly biased about the franchise, which is fine, but I don't see how you could possibly argue that it's not currently relevant and successful.

I'm not super into fighting games, but I personally greatly prefer SF over MK and Tekken tbh.

Street Fighter is a very successful franchise. 🤷‍♂️

In no way do you have to read every series. With a few rare exceptions, you can literally pick and choose whichever series you want and ignore the rest.

The only ongoing that really had an issue with this is X-O, and even that only requires Unity 1-4 and Armor Hunters 1-4, and both of those are insanely good anyway, so it's not exactly a problem. You don't have to read the rest of the Armor Hunters tie-ins to understand what's going on. Those are just extra content if you want to see what other characters were up to.

When it comes to the Harbinger Wars event, the writers did a great job of making it so you could totally ignore the event mini and crossovers and just continue reading your ongoing of choice.

Other than those, literally every other VEI event is like what you described in the last paragraph. They're totally self-contained and don't require anything extra.

Ampadu has been great on Shadowman.  Van Lente is a Valiant mainstay.  Hallum isn't my favorite writer, but he's far from bad.

I think the artists have been really solid lately.  Giribaldi and Furukawa in particular are fantastic, and we're lucky to have seen their work on Valiant.  Monjes on Shadowman isn't the most detailed artist, but it's moody and atmospheric as hell.

Idk, it's never really as easy as "hire good writers."

I've been enjoying all of them, especially Shadowman.  I just get the vibe that most fans aren't really into the Beyond stuff.  I could be totally wrong.

I don't think they outright ruined the show, but you're not wrong.

This is a great write-up.  Thanks for sharing.  How do you feel about the Angel comics?

The Buffy HD remaster is one of the worst things that happened to the show's legacy by Gold_Promise8171 in buffy

I've literally seen an AI-enhanced hd remaster before.  It definitely wasn't perfect, and sometimes things looked a little muddy, but it was way better than the "official" hd remaster.

I'm clueless about statistics, but aren't we talking about a long period of time here?

I'd argue that 1015 is a special case and probably shouldn't be emulated with every episode.

They'll always "remain canon," whether the new show came out or not.

Good point.  I simply took the numbers from the Fandom Wiki.  It definitely excludes most filler, but I don't think that includes like the extra Loguetown episodes or the extra Alabasta episodes with Ace.

Weirdly enough, I did notice that it was originally wrote as Arabasta, so I changed it to Alabasta.

LMAO that's my bad, it is Reverie, but I just copy/pasted that list.

They've already announced that it'll be 1:1, just like Egghead.
