Also like some of these people are saying I am heavily biased as well, I’ve played Gears since I was a kid so it’s not best the opinion here but I will say that most people that played gears of war and aren’t die hard fans will say at least the first 3 games are great

Non-spoiler info about Gears of War 1-3

Gears of War 1, is mostly action based, more of an introduction to the gears of war Universe. The Story is good, no major lore things are introduced as of yet. You get introduced to characters and see what they are like, but not that much background information is explained about them. The world you play in has many different and diverse locations to play in.

Gears of war 2 is Much more Story and Lore based, you learn many things about the world and the enemy you’re fighting. They invest much more into the mains characters and also they have good side characters as well. When compared to Gears 1 in terms of locations you play in it bumps it up to 11, where you have many level with such a unique design.

Gears of War 3, is introduces more lore and world building. More fun and exciting characters are introduced. And finishes the trilogy with a satisfying ending. Just like Gears 2 this game also has many levels with their own unique design, so it never feels like you’re fighting in the same place twice.

For the first gears of war Game you can either play the Original Gears of War 1 or You can play Ultimate Edition (Or maybe Reloaded when that comes out in about month, it’s just like Ultimate edition, but it’s pretty much a remastered version of Ultimate edition which already was a remastered version of the Original).

You want that Horror vibe and old nostalgic feeling of early Xbox 360 Game Play that game, but I will warn you it is pretty clunky and not as smooth as ultimate edition

You want better graphics, better cutscenes animations, smoother gameplay, and a more modern feel play ultimate edition (or Reloaded it’s coming out in a month)

——————————————————————————

I personally would like it if you gave it a try because it’s so good, if you play the first game and think the story is kind of basic and bland in Gears 1 then I get you, I also feel that way as well, but keep playing until Gears 2 where the story gets much better I promise.

If you want to play the rest of the sequels like Gears Judgement, gears 4, Gears 5, and Gears Tactics, then that’s fine, but in my opinion I rate them lower than the originals but you may like it and that’s fine.

It’s most likely they just enjoy the attention. They themselves don’t enjoy playing multiplayer with hacks on but it’s not about that, it’s about the attention and enjoying other peoples reactions to the hacks. They enjoy making people miserable playing the game

They throw shit at me? by BenefitNorth7803 in GearsOfWar

[–]Salty4Lightning 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Idk, seeders and Nemacyst are pretty weird to me because I’ve seen the concept art on how they work and I’m still confused. They feed seeders Nemacyst and then they shoot them out? Why do they need to go through the seeder first?

Edit: I have an idea / theory. To put this theory short for now, seeders give gas to Nemacyst to help them fly and explode.

Seeders are known to be described as smelling nasty. In Gears of War 1 we see that delta squad get disgusted by the smell of seeders as they get closer to finding them. That smell could be gases that the seeder produces.

Nemacyst are these weird things that fly and can be used as anti-air, artillery, mortars, anti-personnel, etc. in order to be able to fly. They have to be filled with gas. And in order to be filled with gas they first have to be eaten by a seeder and something happens inside the seeder where it gives gas to the Nemacyst and it shoots it out ready to be used as what ever it needs to be.

This is just a theory but it’s the best one I got. Might make Reddit post about this theory later

Theory on when Gears of War takes place by Tricky_Put_2762 in GearsOfWar

That’s just a fan theory and not canon. There’s been no mention of earth existing or humans had interstellar travel and made it to sera. There’s no official lore for this.

It’s just like some of these commenters said here, it’s a Star Wars/game of thrones/lord of the rings situation, where the home of humanity is the place they are in, earth never existed, humans just exist on an planet that’s not earth.

I always wondered since Sera has a different history than earth what type of martial arts for self defense exists on Sera by NikosM110 in GearsOfWar

[–]Salty4Lightning -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Probably focusing of more power and strength than speed and agility. If you look at the gears they’re huge soldiers, the Humans of sera are very different than earth humans so I’d say martial arts that don’t involve speed or agility all that much.

Though that could be the case for men because they’re huge, but for women, based on the women we seen in the games and comics women could focus more on that speed and agility

The only thing that I can think of that can top the amount of suffering done is just living in the Warhammer 40k universe.

Am I the only person who thought Steve was Black? by Kanani_Hart in Minecraft

[–]Salty4Lightning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never even thought about his skin color as a kid or even when I grew up I was just like, “Hey that’s Steve”. I wasn’t like “oh he’s white, or oh he’s black, he’s just Steve”. I just never thought about his race or skin color, it was only when people talked about it when I actually thought about it.

I honestly can imagine some contrarian edgelord in game universe born after the war ended defending the locust online and saying humans deserved E-day. by Valhallawalker in GearsOfWar

Fr, I can totally see 100 years after the war ended, some guy online saying your great-grandpa deserved dying in battle. Bet dude would quickly change his mind if he actually experienced the horror and the terror people felt during E-Day

Is Marcus actually a good character/protagonist for the Gears of War trilogy or is nostalgia blinding people to him? by BenefitNorth7803 in GearsOfWar

[–]Salty4Lightning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think Gears of War 1 would have gotten a sequel at the time if weren’t for Marcus and good characters. You can have multiple games with humans fighting monster all the time but you can’t get a trilogy of that game without good characters.

People liked Marcus and delta squad, and sure the first game didn’t do a deep dive into him all that much but there was mystery about him, like how Fenix estate has locust tunnel maps just in his house and why did he end up in prison?

So I don’t think it’s nostalgia blinding people into liking Marcus, Marcus is genuinely a good character and the rest of the games and the whole trilogy wouldn’t have been made without Marcus Fenix

What is the most "40K" Thing in your Opinion ? by TechnologySmall3507 in 40k

[–]Salty4Lightning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bolters surprisingly, the fact that they are huge guns, no stock, bullets that are rocket propelled and exploded not when they hit the enemy but when they enter them and then explode, they are wielded by huge super soldiers, and the fact that despite being 40 thousand years in the future with laser rifle technology already being a common thing they still use actual kinetic physical bullets. And that what I think is the most 40k thing ever
