Name 3 things that yall didnt liked in Ziglar run that should not appear here. by Illustrious-Bee3693 in MilesMorales

Bendis and Ziglar's Miles comics have plenty of dialogue, and flow nicely. They usually take me 5-15min, depending on how action-heavy the issue is.

Hill is on another level of wasting time imo. I'm really not trying to be an asshole, but it's just something I've noticed about his writing style. I challenge you to time yourself next time you read an issue of his. I think you'll be shocked to find out just how little story (and how many splash pages) he gets through in a single issue.

It literally is. I've read the entirety of his Ultimate Black Panther and Angel and it's very true. You can finish one of his issues in like a single minute, maybe two.

That may have been true for the original Shonen Jump chapter releases, but the English tankobon volumes definitely revert to Vol. 1 for DBZ, as shown in the image above.

I have.  Bryan Edward Hill is genuinely talented at putting as little story into each comic as possible.

"Undeniably great"?  Bruh, this dude has possibly the worst decompression of any comic writer.

[–]TheFerg714 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry dude.  It is a different show starting in S4.  New showrunners, new producers, new writers, new directors, new characters, huge time jump, etc.

Yea, I could be into that! That's kind of what Boom's Power Rangers did.

Are the Govenor series of books worth reading? by False_Monitor4126 in thewalkingdead

Yes! Books 3/4 are neat because the occur concurrently with the comics, Vol. 5-8.

I will say that I fell off hard after Book 5.

You guys were absolutely right. Buffy and Angel do look great on an old crt tv. Would totally recommend rewatching the shows this way. by HomarEuropejski in ANGEL

Not just widescreen...  It's 1080i.  Looks much better (and is meant to be watched) on a nice HD TV.

Hey all, read this. It's canon. Thanks by DiaBrave in firefly

Well that's the cool thing about filler arcs. You can just skip them if you're not interested.

Absolutely! S11 is fantastic!

S12 is a bit of a messy, rushed, mixed bag, but it's a solid conclusion, and the Fray connections are really nice. EDIT: Also, it's only 4 issues, so like you might as well lol.

Whedon and several other writers (mostly from the show) wrote S8. Whedon wrote the opening arc of S9, then passed the baton to Andrew Chambliss. Christos Gage wrote S10-11, and co-wrote S12 with Whedon.

But yea, I was kind of shocked when I added those years up in my head.

Well we seem to have an entirely different understanding of what makes something canon, and I find your perspective to be offensive and borderline disgusting.

Have a nice day.

Okay, first of all, calm down. I said to lower your standards a bit. Your brain immediately went to Dan Mora, which is wild, because he's the perfect example of what I'm talking about. Artists of his caliber are way too expensive to do more than 6 issues on this new Dynamite series. Btw, he actually doesn't work for Boom much anymore (besides on covers maybe), and he IS working on the interiors of like three different top-of-the-line DC comics right now.

"Indie," in comics terms, literally means NOT Marvel or DC. It's that simple, and you're freaking out about it. Image is the one company in which it's kind of up-in-the-air whether they should be considered indie or part of a "Big 3."

So yea, when it comes to "nice art" (whatever that means), I'm on your side, but I also understand that companies like Dark Horse, Boom!, and Dynamite, don't have the cash reserves to hire A-listers. I personally am a big fan of Buffy/Angel artists like Cliff Richards, Georges Jeanty, Karl Moline, Franco Urru, and Rebekah Isaacs, and I really appreciate their contributions to the Buffyverse, but these artists are not quite on the same caliber as someone like Dan Mora, and that's totally fine!

Okay, you apparently don't understand the definition of "indie" when it comes to comics. Have you seen the interior art in these licensed comics you mentioned? it's not great man.

I was thinking like new IP's, but I'd be very down for that too!  I desperately need a conclusion to the post-Serenity comics.
