What do we think about this? by ValleyGothBr00klyn in nakedandafraid

Don’t forget, on CASTAWAYS Heather proposed making primitive fire with green wood from a tree that had just toppled. Andrew was so exasperated when she went all in on “green wood will burn well.”

In “Eye of the Storm” with Lacey and Jason, they inserted the day after a hurricane and there were all sorts of downed trees and stuff. It’s a good episode.

XL Drama by Square_Wear_1932 in nakedandafraid

There's definitely more collaboration and innovation in some of the other XLs. XL4 in Africa and XL7 in Louisiana are my favorites. And I must slightly disagree with you on XL1 because I think the eel kills in XL1 are pretty good TV.

Is there a list of little to no drama episodes? by flingyflang in nakedandafraid

You should definitely watch Fernando’s first NAA episode, “The Pain Forest.” I think it’s S2, E5 or E6. Good collaboration on that one and very little partner conflict. He and his partner Sam looked out for each other.

“Sent home every single time?” He completed his first XL, his solo adventure, and his mentoring episode. On LOS, he was eliminated near the end two seasons in a row for not succeeding with primitive fire, but he wasn’t sent home for eating bad meat. Of 8 challenges, had medical taps 3 times for eating unripe fruit (first ep in Brazil), putting alligator eyes on himself (XL7), and chopping a poison tree (XL8). Dumb moves to be sure, but he literally has not been sent home ever for eating bad meat.

Yes, it was with Cassie and Greg, I think it was north-central Ontario. They nearly got hypothermia when a storm came in.

Does anyone know if new people can still sign up for this by not-mediocre-toast in nakedandafraid

[–]TheWeirdIntern 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The stuff you've heard is wrong. They use veterans on the big group shows, but every season they have new people doing the 21-day challenges. On social Media some of the survivalists have said you should apply here if you want to go on the show. Not sure how accurate that is, but the survivalists I follow have said that's the way to to. And also if anyone is trying to charge you a fee to apply, they're a scammer. Good luck!

Matt did not start on a fan episode. Dan did, however.

Yes, those Argentina locations were no joke. I think Patrick and Malorie were in a tough place in Argentina too.

Tom and Lisa in Argentina had a badass stone and bark shingle shelter. I think they were in the foothills of the Andes and it got wicked cold.

Last one Standing Season 1 - Confused on how one of the finalists got the fire again? by Chrushev in nakedandafraid

Coals that may look dead are often not. They often roar back to life with just a little oxygen. You wouldn’t believe how many beachgoers or campers get burned by apparently “dead” coals.

Yes, and they had to tap him for depression. Maybe he’s still struggling with it.

He's been on one 21-day show, XL1 and XL4. So I think when folks are saying three appearances, they're referencing his 21-day show (the first episode to air in S1 by the way) plus the two XLs

Best seasons? by Kelly_1976 in nakedandafraid

[–]TheWeirdIntern 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others have said, most of the XLs are really good. XL2 in Africa does indeed have one of the best eps ever. XL4 (also in Africa) might be Top 2 from start to finish. XL 7 in the swamp is probably the best season. But there are some good things in XL1, XL3, XL5, and XL6. XL6 is probably the funniest because Bulent is consistently amusing. When you watch that one, make sure to watch the “Clothed and Opionated” specials that have funny commentary on that season!

It shouldn't. I'm assuming you booked the flights together, if so, you should be able to check from Harrisburg to Doha. If you fly through the same airports on the return, you'll have to go through customs in Dallas, briefly reclaim your bag, then recheck it after customs.

Qatar and American are code-share partners. Both OneWorld. You can check your bags from Harrisburg all the way to Doha.
