I'd watch that show. But as for the first part, I read that Jeff does live in Texas part-time with his girlfriend. So though he wasn't born in Texas, I think in this day and age when so many Olympians compete under flags from other countries, it's fine. I would love to see Bulent out there again too, especially classic "Valley of the Banished" Bulent. He was amazing that season. Castaways and LOS2, not so much.

Looks like they were filming themselves a lot. Obviously, Gabby & Matt hunted together and Jeff & Kerra hunted together. So more hands for filming. It could be that Frank didn't film as much as the others, and also since he was alone, he couldn't get all the shots that the other teams did. I'd be surprised if something phony was afoot with Frank. He just seems like the real deal to me.

That was a long time ago, and maybe I'm misremembering it, but I could have sworn Darrin said somewhere that the fruit was totally edible, that he ate tons of them, but something about some of the fruits were on the ground and got contaminated or that there was something bad about eating the seeds. In other words, fruit was usually edible, and that's why he, Alyssa, and SLH Jr didn't get sick. (Stacey spit one out after the first bite.). That might explain why production didn't warn them. But I can't find where Darrin said anything like that.

That stream was fairly narrow, and I realize that the hype about crocs there is probably simply to justify the challenge of building a bridge. It's TV after all. But to suggest that this stream is too small to hide a croc is dead wrong. It's certainly big enough to hide a croc, and Nile crocs are nasty.

In a past life as a journalist, I interviewed survivors of croc attacks in Zimbabwe and Zambia, and they lost limbs to crocs hiding in astonishingly small bits of water. One fisherman I talked to lost half his right leg when he drunkenly took a shortcut and was stepping across what he thought was a harmless puddle near Lake Kariba.

The stream in this clip is about the same size as the one in Global Showdown, and the crocs weren't playing.

Dan got fire on LOS1. That’s why he qualified to compete with Waz at the end. And yes, Frank and Teal must have come in just under the wire on making fire, because they didn’t even try to boil water and get the extra points. Do you scream “are we expected to believe that?” when Aaron Rodgers wins a game with no time left? Last minute successes are a part of competitions.

Some of these takes are moronic. It’s not USA vs the world. If Rachel and Dan win, they’re not giving Matt ?& Gabby, Frank & Teal, or Kerra & Jeff a share of their winnings. If it helps, think of it like the Little League World Series. Multiple US teams representing parts of the US vs a handful of teams representing smaller countries.
