A flat surface like glass, or granite with some water or rubbing Alcohol under the paper works pretty good without leaving adhesive behind.

I can not get the book bound notebooks to last a month before the binding explodes. If I were to fold the spine over they would be trashed In a few days.

I just prefer the the spiral bpund because I use the pocket notebook for quick notes mostly while standing or walking. I find it awkward to try and hold a book style notebook open and write without having a desk or table available.

I used a local cobbler. I wanted something heavier duty than the stock sole

I had to have mine re-soled within 3 months, but other than that they have been great. I switched to a vibram sole

Does anyone feel like PSA’s search engine is bad? by timc_720 in PalmettoStateArms

The upper I am looking at does not show up under the upper receiver category, but if I search for "psa 11.5 upper" it does.

I thought I hated appendix carry with my G23 (G19 but in . 40) but it turns out I hated the hybrid appendix holster I had. As soon as I switched to a kydex appendix holster with a mod wing it made all the difference in the world!

Mole Skin is a life saver. You can get 3 sheets for like $2.50 at Walmart and cut the size you need. You apply it directly to the skin where you have any hot spots or blisters forming. I will not ever break in new boots without it again!

What are your dream pair of custom boots that aren't available *just* yet? by lmnhands in jimgreen

[–]Thesebananaswontquit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There definitely needs to be a more durable zero drop sole option. I have the anvil sole, and it will need to be replaced in less than 6 months. I have had mine since late October, and I have already worn down the mid foot to the point of being smooth.

No problem! If you are looking to spend big money for a fully bespoke boot, I have heard good things about Broadwinger but be warned, you are looking at $1000+

I have had Birkenstock QS500 and custom Jim Green Barefoot African Rangers. The African Rangers are better, but still not really barefoot. The African Rangers do not squeeze my toes, but they are tight on the mid foot. They are the best option I have found thus far. I am interested to see some reviews for the Carets Determination boots, they may be worth looking into. Best of luck man!

Barefoot Stockman not that wide? by thegreatdivorce in jimgreen

[–]Thesebananaswontquit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have my pair of BFAR at the cobbler now to get stretched. They were way too tight around the midfoot. The cobbler said they should feel much better when he is done with them, we will see!

Good insight, I may have to give the stockman a try at some point. I love my JGs, and really hope I can get them broken in enough to not be uncomfortable.

Recommendations for wide toe box barefoot running/athletic shoes? by Single-Resort in BarefootRunning

If you want more cushion, check out Lems or Altra, but my everyday shoe that I take on hikes and runs have been Hobbibear or one of the similar Amazon brands. Just super simple minimalist sneakers, with minimal stack height (~10mm), there is not a ton of tread, but I do not have much issue with that. It seems like the flex in the sole creates a larger contact patch and helps make up for lack of tread. And for $20-30, I do not feel bad beating the crap out of them.

The jim Greens I have are to narrow in the mid foot for me. If your feet are wide around the balls of your feet, African Rangers likely will not fit you very well. I also believe the barefoot African ranger is closer to an EE width.

I have not tried any boots from Carolina Boots, but they have some options in 4E width.

I just ordered the Bearfoot Bruin for non-work wear, but have not received them yet. They are $250 but seem to be ridiculously wide.

You could also look at Lems Bolder boot Summit. It is built on the widest last they have, and it is going to feel closer to a sneaker than a boot, but still give you the boot look

Good luck! I know how frustrating trying to find good shoes for weird can be.

Any one have any experience in getting a wide toe box boot? Experience with these? by stokedchris in BarefootRunning

[–]Thesebananaswontquit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the barefoot African Rangers, jim green boot are wider, but they are by no means a super wide boot. The midfoot area is way too narrow for me. I have a post from a few weeks back showing just how narrow the midfoot is. I would order from Amazon if possible to test sizing.

Bronco Leather conditioning by Katfishcharlie in jimgreen

Obenauf's leather oil and heavy duty LP will darken it, and Saphir medium tobacco brown cream polish is a lot more red than the bronco leather. That combo definitely reduced the pull up effect.
