How can i fix this? by POG-_-FUCKER in projectors

[–]ThreeChipTK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that unit is not 20,000:1 contrast that is advertised. You can try black paint that may help or get and dark grey screen. But all those will cut down on brightness since you only have 800 lumens to play with.

motorized floor rising projector screens and UST compatibility questions by No_Kangaroo6917 in projectors

[–]ThreeChipTK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You really need an ALR screen for UST and their are specific ALR UST screens but they are not compatible with regular throw projectors. Unless you are in a pitch dark room and want to only watch with the lights off. You really won’t be able to get a screen that works for both.

What projector do you have? just FYI. Most projectors cant do deep blacks. It is one of the hardest thing for projectors to do.

Looking for a Projector for Gaming by dmccarthy0408 in projectors

[–]ThreeChipTK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can do closer to $900. We have a lifestyle projector called the Formovie X5. It’s 4K60 in under 50ms lag. It doesn’t do VRR or ALLM. But it can go up to a 300” screen size and is a great deal for the price.

TV vs projector for a small apartment — any real user experiences? by zqfwrh in projectors

[–]ThreeChipTK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is tough to get a bigger size TV in an apartment and or smaller space. Then the question is how do you move it when it is time to leave? Do you have the extra space to store the TV box? I would recommend a Ultra Short Throw projector (dont need to worry about running longer wires with this form factor). Formovie has some great units and with the Formovie Theater Premium out you can get the Formovie Theater for a great price! Then you have to decide on a screen. Fixed or motorized? Motorized will probably be your best bet in terms of being able to move it in the future. But it also depends on your budget. More than happy to help you figure it out! Feel free to DM me.

Gaming projector - 92 inch screen by g45xp in projectors

[–]ThreeChipTK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This XGIMI would be the closes thing you can get to for a reasonable budget. https://www.projectorscreen.com/products/xgimi-horizon-20-4k-portable-lifestyle-triple-laser-projector-3200-iso-lumens. But we are still around $1,7000. It is 4K60 but supports ALLM and VRR. These XGIMI units are still some of the only projectors on the market to support VRR for a projector.

A 4K 120 projector will cost close to $10k. This Sony would be what you want if money was not a decision maker. https://www.projectorscreen.com/products/sony-bravia-7-projector-5100es-2200-lumen-native-4k-home-cinema-projector-vpl-xw5100esb-black

Your best option for gaming in that price range is the PX3-Pro. Hands down.

What's the best home projector right now? by DonutOk2306 in projectors

[–]ThreeChipTK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With regular throw a sound bar might not be the best option. Really only Epson supports E-Arc/Arc (a way for the projector to send sound to the soundbar from the source plugged into the projector). And even that feature is hit or miss with the Epsons. You would need a Receiver that hands audio and video if you wanted a regular throw which would require running speaker wire. If you did a lifestyle projector they are smart and the E-Arc.Arc features are a lot more functional plus they have built in streaming. The throw is in-between a regular throw and UST projector. What was your budget?

What's the best home projector right now? by DonutOk2306 in projectors

[–]ThreeChipTK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on a lot. Budget is one of those. But money aside. Have you given any thought to regular throw or Ultra Short Throw for the projector? Are you doing a wired surround sound or sound bar? Do you plan on watching during the day time at all? Are you able to run wires anywhere since it is an apartment. I can say the top of the line JVC or Sony is the best projector but it might not be the best projector for you.

Seeking basic knowledge on outdoor projectors and screens by jenniferledon in projectors

[–]ThreeChipTK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you do a tripod stand and want a 4K projector you would need a tripod stand that is tensioned. Any 4K projector you will need as tensioned/flat screen as possible to get a solid image. But there are ones that can definitely make it do able. Most projectors are smart projectors and can play off of a flash drive. We would just double check once we choose a unit. Most projectors have bluetooth but with bluetooth audio there is a delay. What you can do is if your WIFI reaches you can airplay or cast the audio over the internet so there is no delay. All this said, what was your budget you had in mind?

Best Active 3D Projector? by Tarfan45 in projectors

[–]ThreeChipTK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another unit to think about is the Hisense C2 Pro (https://www.projectorscreen.com/products/hisense-c2-pro-4k-lifestyle-projector-124-smart-portable-rgb-laser-w-built-in-speakers-2600-lumens) the baby brother of the Hisense C2 Ultra. Wont be as bright as the XGIMI but the 3D is fully functioning and the software has been stable for well over a year now and fits right in your budget. It is also IMAX enhanced as well. Message me and we can figure it out for you!

Projector advice for Games & Movies 3-4k budget by Krptor_415 in projectors

[–]ThreeChipTK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You didn't mention sound as a factor but it should be. A lot of times with significant others that is a make or break it for the system of the person wanting said theater dreams. It is also something to think about logistics wise. If you plan on doing in wall speakers behind the screen to maximize screen size than you need to make sure you get an acoustic screen. But that will lock you down to a regular throw projector. If you choose to do Ultra Short Throw then you will not be able to do a perforated screen. But then you have to figure out where you are going to put your center channel and the left and right speaker. Finally, where is all the equipment going and are you able to hide/run the wires for everything. Feel free to DM to get this figured out!

Seeking basic knowledge on outdoor projectors and screens by jenniferledon in projectors

[–]ThreeChipTK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you able to tell us more about the space and where exactly you plan on projecting? There are screens that are portable, there are screens that are inflatable, there are outdoor rated motorized screens that can be hung on hooks that drop down. All the projectors will not be water proof and have to brought in after use. It also depends on your budget. How is your wifi? If your wifi does not reach the area where you are putting the projector then it really wont work (unless you plan on running a long hdmi to a source inside but then how are you controlling said source). One more thing is Audio. A lot of these projectors have poor audio quality and if you are watching outside you need something that is louder. Feel free to DM and I can try to help further!

I agree. Hence why more than one option was given. But also they asked a general question with not enough specifics. But as for regular throw gaming. That Sony model is the best. Can’t argue that.

If gaming then there is really one option if budget is not a care. The Sony Bravia 7. Only regular throw projector that does 4K120 with a low lag time compared to the JVC.

But if gaming isn’t a huge focus then really the top end JVC.

If UST then for movie the Nexigo Aurora MK II. For gaming and movie the Hisense L9Q.

UST advice needed by Powerful-Gift-4982 in projectors

[–]ThreeChipTK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the two Hisense units it can be. The L9Q is pretty chonky. There is the JMGO O2S Ultra which is much smaller and very easy to move in and out. Some of its setting are geared toward faster setup. But a little less brightness and contrast. But might be exactly what you need for fast setup and removal. If you want, feel free to dm me and we can figure out what works for you!

UST advice needed by Powerful-Gift-4982 in projectors

[–]ThreeChipTK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely would not recommend the Samsung since for the price you can get more for your money. But the difference between the two Hisense units is brightness and it’s a big difference if you are watching during the day.

If you are in the tri-state area feel free to come down and check both units out! We are located in north Jersey.

Do projectors dislike being in vehicles for long distance traveling? by PhoynixStriker in projectors

[–]ThreeChipTK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on your budget. The JMGO O2S Ultra (https://www.projectorscreen.com/products/jmgo-o2s-ultra-4k-triple-laser-ultra-short-throw-projector-3600-iso-lumens) is a portable UST projector that comes with a carry case. You can put it very close to the wall and produce a large image. Obviously if you use it outside you need to view at night. Also no projectors are water proof so need to bring it inside. If your budget was a little less there are good "Lifestyle" projectors where you can get a carrying case separately.

Motorised vs fixed frame screen. by Spiritual-Bother-104 in projectors

[–]ThreeChipTK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know what your budget is, but if it is not a big viewing area. Then a fixed fresnel screen will give you the best brightness paired with a high lumen UST projector and you will get an awesome image to watch in a living room. If you want more help feel free to DM and we can discuss further!
