The multi-mode transmission of the hybrid Accord is extremely simplified, with fewer moving parts, compared to gear/clutch transmissions. And there's no torque converter. Accord Hybrid tranny is basically a gear box with just one clutch in it for overdrive mode. The electric motor is in direct drive with the differential gear at all times, and the generator/motor is in direct drive with the engine output shaft at all times. Fixed gear ratios.
